Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan menulis siswa yang telah diajarkan dengan menggunakan film animasi dan yang diajarkan tanpa menggunakan film animasi. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Tarakan selama 1 bulan. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas yaitu kelas XI IPA 2 dan XI IP A 4 yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik sampling area (cluster random sampling). Untuk mengukur kemampuan menulis siswa, peneliti menggunakan tes writing dan mengambil data dari basil pre tes dan post tes. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisa dengan analisis statistika yaitu t-test dengan menggunakan program SPSS 11.5 for window. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dari nilai rata-rata siswa yang menggunakan film animasi dan yang tidak. Dari hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai t hitung lebih besar dari nilai t table. Ini berarti hipotesis nol (Ho) ditolak dan hipotesis altematif (Ha) diterima. Penelitian ini memberikan kesimpulan bahwa adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan film animasi dan yang tidak menggunakan film animasi.

This study aimed at determining whether there is any significant difference in students' writing ability after being taught by using animation film and without using animation film. The data collected in SMAN I Tarakan during one month. The sample of this study consisted of two classes of XI IPA 2 and XI IPA 4. They were taken by using cluster random sampling. To know the students' writing ability, they were given writing test and take the data of pre test and post test. Finally the data have analyzed by ~nferential statistical analysis, t-test for independent sample by using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 11.5 for windows. The result of this study showed that there is significance difference between students' writing ability after being taught by using animation film and without using animation film. The data analysis indicated that the computed-t (tc) is higher than the value oft-table. It means that the result of teaching with using animation film is higher than without using animation film. Finally, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This study concluded there is significant difference between students' writing ability after being taught by using animation film and without using animation film.
