Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatakan prestasi siswa dalamm embuat kalimat simple present continuous tense melalui gambar. Sesuai dengan tujuan dari penelitian, maka metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas.Subjek dari penelitian in yaitu siswa kelas VIII-2 SMPN 5 Tarakan tahun ajaran 2011/2012 yang terdiri dari 31siswasebaga isampelnya. Penelitian tindakan kelas inidilakukan padabulanAgustus sampai bulan September 2011.Di dalampenelitian ini peneliti sebagai guru mengajarkan “writing” yang berhubungan dengan simple present continuous tense dengan menggunakangambar. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, data ditemukan selama tindakan, siswa sudahmenunjukkan peninggkatan mereka Penelit imenggunakan 2 siklus dari penelitian tindakan. Hasil dari tindakan menunjukkan bahwa setelah peneliti melakukan tindakan, prestasi siswa dalam membuat kalimat simple present continuous tense dapa tmeningkat sebagaimana yang ditunjukkan padahasilkedua observasi pada aktifita ssiswa selama tindakandan hasil tes mereka. Criteria keberhasilan pada penelitian ini tergantung pada KKM disekolah yang sudah ditentukan, yaitu 70 dan penelitian ini berhasil apabila didalam kelasa da 70% siswa sudah lulus dalam pelajaran tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil testulis pada siklus pertama ditemukan bahawaada 11 siswa berhasil atau 35% dari 70% dari criteria kelulusan dan meningkat sampai 77% atau 24 siswa telah berhasil didalam tes tulis pada siklus kedua. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa prestasi siswa dalam membuat kalimat simple present continuous tense melalui gambar meningkat.
The objective of this research was to improve students" achievement in making simple present continuous tense through pictures.Related to the purpose of the research, the research method which used in this study was class action research. The subject of the study was the students of class VIII-2 of SMP N 5Tarakan in the academic year 2011/2012 consisting of 31 students as the sample. Theaction research was conducted from August to September 2011. In this research, theresearcher as a teacher taught „writing" that connected simple present continuous tense by using pictures. Based on the result of observation, the data was found that during the action, the students have shown their improvement.The researcher conducted two cycles of action. The result of the action showed that after the researcher conducted the actions, the students" achievement in making simple present continuous can improve as shown in the result of both the observation on the students" activity during the actions and their result tests. The criteria of success of this research depends on the minimum score of school that have been determined, it was 70 and the research would be success if in the class there are 70% of students have passed in learning. Based on the written test in the first cycle was found that 11 students succeeded or 35% from 70% of criteria of success and improving to 77% or 24 students succeeded in the written test in the second cycle. So, it can be concluded that students" achievement in making simple present continuous tense through pictures can improve.
