The purpose of this research to know about the quality of learning for student grade VII-4 SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. IPA learning processing, specially in ekosistem material and biological diversity. Knowing the result of student learning in grade VII4 SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan with Puzzle media learning application and knowing their respon about this puzzle media learning application. This research was done in early may until the ending of may 2011 in SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. The research data acquisition was from the result of observation, and those test which was done to the student grade VII-4 SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan including with their undersanding about ecosystem and biological diversity. The data in this research one: 1) the learning processing of data it was student activity, 2) the resulting of learning data it was the student kognitiv, 3) the student responding data concerning with the applying media. The data sources in this research was student grade VII-4 SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan and the teacher. As the patner of the researcher and all the school component. The result of this research showing that : 1) the was same increasing learning quality to student grade VII-4 SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan it was showing by their activity about 64,61, 2) the result of the student learning was increasing in cycle 1 the classical learning result was 80,6 in cycle 2 was 84,83 and 3) the questionnaire responding student in resulting percentage reached 85,31 in category very agree, it means positif responding student to the puzzle media learning application.
