Abstract

Padi merupakan komoditas utama di Indonesia karena dijadikan makanan utama. Kendala pada biji yaitu terdapat kulit ari yang dapat menghambat proses perkecambahan. Salah satu cara untuk mempercepat perkecambahan yaitu dengan air aki. Air aki yang digunakan dengan konsentrasi paling tinggi 35%. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat pengaruh perendaman air aki terhadap perkecambahan benih padi lokal asal Tarakan Kalimantan Utara. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acal Lengkap 1 faktor dengan 8 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuannya yaitu P1 (padi IR 36 Konsentrasi air aki 35%), P2 (padi IR 36 Konsentrasi air aki 30%), P3 (padi IR 36 Konsentrasi air aki 25%), P4 (padi IR 36 Konsentrasi air aki 20%), P5 (padi IR 36 Konsentrasi air aki 15%), P6 (padi IR 36 Konsentrasi air aki 10%), P7 (padi IR 36 Konsentrasi air aki 5%), dan P8 (padi IR 36 Konsentrasi air aki 0%). Parameter penelitian yaitu daya kecambah, laju perkecambahan, potensi tumbuh, kecepatan tumbuh, tinggi kecambah, panjang akar terpanjang dan jumlah akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan parameter daya kecambah, potensi tumbuh, laju perkecambahan dan kecepatan tumbuh tidak ada perbedaan pada semua perlakuan. Pengamatan tinggi kecambah perlakuan P1 dengan nilai 4,17 cm memiliki nilai tertinggi dan berbeda nyata terhadap semua pengamatan lainnnya. Pengamatan panjang akar terpanjang perlakuan P1 dengan nilai 2,77 cm memiliki nilai tertinggi dan berbeda nyata terhadap perlakuan P5, P6, P7 dan P8 tetapi tidak berbeda nyata terhadap perlakuan P2, P3 dan P4. Pengamatan jumlah akar perlakuan p1 dengan nilai 4,59 helai memiliki nilai tertinggi dan berbeda nyata terhadap semua pengamatan lainnnya.

Rice is the main commodity in Indonesia because it is used as the main food. The problem with seeds is that there is an epidermis that can inhibit the germination process. One way to speed up germination is with battery water. Battery water used with the highest concentration of 35%. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of immersing battery water on the germination of local rice seeds from Tarakan, North Kalimantan. The study used a complete randomized design with 1 factor with 8 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were P1 (rice IR 36 with battery water concentration 35%), P2 (rice IR 36 with 30% battery water concentration), P3 (rice IR 36 with 25% battery water concentration), P4 (rice IR 36 with 20% battery water concentration), P5 (rice IR 36 with 15% battery water concentration), P6 (rice IR 36 with 10% battery water concentration), P7 (rice IR 36 with 5% battery water concentration), and P8 (rice IR 36 with 0% battery water concentration). The research parameters were germination, germination rate, growth potential, growth speed, germination height, longest root length and number of roots. The results showed that the parameters of germination, growth potential, germination rate and growth speed were no different in all treatments. Observation of the height of the Sprouts treatment P1 with a value of 4.17 cm had the highest value and was significantly different from all other observations. Observation of the longest root length in treatment P1 with a value of 2.77 cm had the highest value and was significantly different from treatments P5, P6, P7 and P8 but not significantly different from treatments P2, P3 and P4. Observation of the number of root treatment p1 with a value of 4.59 strands had the highest value and was significantly different from all other observations.
