Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji pengaruh model cooperative learning tipe numbered heads together (NHT) terhadap kecemasan matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Tarakan. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini terdapat pengaruh model cooperative learning tipe numbered heads together (NHT) terhadap kecemasan matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Tarakan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis eksperimen semu (quasi experiment). Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik probability sampling dan didapatkan 32 orang responden dari kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 32 orang kelas VIII-F sebagai kelas kontrol. Kecemasan matematika siswa masuk dalam kategori sedang, dibuktikan dari 64 siswa terdapat 50,6% siswa memiliki kecemasan kategori sedang. Hasil penelitian tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) terhadap kecemasan matematika siswa memiliki pengaruh positif sebesar 7,469. Pembelajaran yang dilakukan dalam kelompok- kelompok kecil dan diarahkan untuk belajar secara bersama-sama, memberikan kesempatan kepada masing- masing siswa agar terlibat secara aktif dalam proses berpikir dalam kegiatan belajar. Hal ini berpengaruh terhadap kecemasan matematika masing-masing siswa, karena dengan model pembelajaran konvensional siswa dituntut memecahkan masalah matematika secara individu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perubahan yang signifikan (nyata) antara rata-rata kecemasan matematika siswa pada kelompok eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the numbered heads together (NHT) cooperative learning model on the mathematics anxiety of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Tarakan. The hypothesis in this study is that there is an effect of the numbered heads together (NHT) cooperative learning model on the mathematics anxiety of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Tarakan. The research uses a quantitative approach to the type of quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental). Sampling was done using probability sampling technique and obtained 32 respondents from class VIII-B as the experimental class and 32 people from class VIII-F as the control class. Students' mathematics anxiety is in the moderate category, as evidenced by 64 students, 50.6% of students have moderate category anxiety. The results of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) type of research on students' mathematics anxiety have a positive effect of 7,469. Learning is carried out in small groups and is directed to learn together, providing opportunities for each student to be actively involved in the thinking process in learning activities. This affects the mathematics anxiety of each student, because with conventional learning models students are required to solve mathematical problems individually. The results showed that there was a significant (significant) change between the average mathematics anxiety of students in the experimental group and the control class.
