Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan perbedaan pada nilai kemampuan berbicara siswa antar Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan dan Kurikulum 2013 siswa-siswi kelas 9 di SMP Negeri 5 dan 7 Tarakan tahun pelajaran 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kausal komparatif dan 54 siswa-siswi kelas sembilan di masing-masing sekolah sebagai sampel, yang mana menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hanya terdapat satu kali tes dalam penelitian ini, yakni tes berbicara. Didalam tes berbicara, siswa-siswi diwawancarai satu persatu. Dalam menganalis data, peneliti menggunakan independen sample t-test. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata nilai berbicara siswa di SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan yang menggunakan Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan (KTSP) dan SMP Negeri 7 Tarakan yang menggunakan Kurikulum 2013. Nilai rata-rata siswa di SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan sebesar 66.54 dan nilai rata-rata siswa di SMP Negeri 7 Tarakan sebesar 70.80. Sebagai tambahan, hasil dari independen sample test menunjukkan menunjukkan nilai t test -3.029 lebih tinggi dibandingkan t 1.982 dan hasil dari sig 2 tailed 0.003 lebih kecil dari 0.05 itu berarti nilai kemampuan berbicara siswa memiliki perbedaan antara SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan dan SMP Negeri 7 Tarakan.

The objective of this research was to find out the differences on students’ speaking achievement between School Based Curriculum (KTSP) and Curriculum of 2013 at the ninth graders of SMP Negeri 5 and SMP Negeri 7 Tarakan in Academic Year 2019. This research used causal comparative design and the numbers of sample in this research were 54 students from each school, which were chosen by using purposive sampling technique. There was one test in this research that is speaking test. In speaking test, the researcher gave the students question by interview. In analyzing the data, the researcher used independent sample T . The research result showed that there was different mean score on students’ test speaking achievement at SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan which used School Based Curriculum and SMP Negeri 7 Tarakan with Curriculum of 2013. The students’ mean score of SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan was 66.54 and SMP Negeri 7 Tarakan was 70.80. Then the result of independent sample t-test showed that t is -3.029 which is higher than t 1.982 and the result of sig 2 tailed 0.003 was lower than 0.05. It indicates that the students’ speaking achievement had difference between SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan and SMP Negeri 7 Tarakan. table test
