Anak merupakan harapan bangsa. Namun realitas menunjukkan masih ditemukan anak-anak yang terlibat dalam berbagai bentuk kejahatan. Sementara itu, aparat kepolisian sebagai penegak hukum diharapkan menangani kasus kejahatan yang melibatkan anak sebagai pelaku dengan pendekatan yang berbeda yakni pendekatan restroative justice. Inilah yang menjadi dasar pemikiran penelitian dengan dua tujuan: (1). Peran penyidik kepolisian terhadap anak yang berkonflik dengan hukum dengan pendekatan restroative justice; (2). Upaya paksa yang dapat dilakukan penyidik kepolisian tehadap anak yang berkonflik dengan hukum. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian normatif dengan dua pendekatan, yakni pendekatan perundang-undangan dan pendekatan konseptual. Berdasarkan pendekatan tersebut, maka keseluruhan hasil penelitian dianalisis secara argumentatif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyidik kepolisian memiliki peran sangat penting dalam penanganan perkara kejahatan yang melibatkan anak dengan memperlakukaan anak tersebut dengan lebih mengedepankan pendekatan restroative justice. Hasil penelitian selanjutnya, bahwa upaya paksa oleh penyidik kepolisian terhadap anak yang berkonflik dengan hokum dalam pendekatan restroative justice, yakni mestinya lebih mengedepankan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan dengan mengintegrasikan peran masyarakat, mengingat perkembangan jiwa anak. Rekomendasi peneliti bahwa penyidik kepolisian yang menangani pidana anak seharusnya dibekali keterampilan khusus yang lebih mengedepankan pendekatan restroative justice.

Children are the hope. The reality shows still found children who are involved in various forms of crime. Meanwhile, police officers as law enforcers are expected to handle criminal cases involving children as perpetrators with different approaches that is restorative justice approach. This is the basis of research thinking with two purposes: (1). The role of police investigators against children facing the law with a restorative justice approach; (2). Forced efforts that can be done by police investigators against children facing the law. This research is a normative research with two approaches, namely approach of legislation and conceptual approach. Based on the approach, the overall research result is analyzed argumentative qualitative. The results show that police investigators play a very important role in the handling of crime cases involving children by exposing the child with a more emphasis on the approach of restorative justice. The results of further research, that the forced attempts by police investigators against children of perpetrators of the crime with restroative justice approach, which should be more emphasized the values of humanity by integrating the role of society, given the development of the child's soul. The researcher recommends that police investigators who handle child crime should be equipped with special skills that put forward the approach of restorative justice.
