Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan pada upaya untuk mengetahui kualitas butir soal bahasa Inggris Siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tarakan tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Peneliti menggunakan simple random sampling untuk menentukan sampel. Peneliti mengambil 50 siswa untuk melakukan penelitian ini. Data penelitian berupa butir soal dan hasil jawaban siswa. Lembar soal tes terdiri dari 40 soal berbentuk pilihan ganda. Adapun sumber data diperoleh dari dokumentasi naskah soal UAS, kunci jawaban, dan 50 lembar jawaban siswa. Lembar jawaban diperlukan untuk analisis statistik untuk mengetahui kualitas butir soal berdasarkan analisis soal, validitas. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil perhitungan validitas kemudian diinterpretasikan untuk mengetahui ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kualitas butir soal dari tingkat validitas soal, yang valid sebesar 60% dan tidak valid sebesar 40%. Jika ditinjau dari tingkat validitas terdapat 3 item (7.5%) tingkat validitas bagus, 18 item (45%) tingkat validitas memuaskan, 9 items (22.5%) tingkat validitas buruk dan 10 item (25%) tingkat validitas sangat buruk. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas soal memiliki validitas yang bagus. Dan dapat dikatakan telah memenuhi ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran.
The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of English questions for Eighth Grader Students of SMPN 2 Tarakan in the academic year 2019/2020. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. To take the sample, the researcher used simple random sampling. The researcher took 50 students as the research sample. To obtain the data the researcher used the English test and students' answer sheet. The data consisted of 40 multiple-choice questions. Whereas, the source of data was taken from the English summative test, answer key and 50 students answer sheets. Answer sheets were needed for statistical analysis to determine the quality of the items based on question analysis and the validity. The data obtained from the validity result were then interpreted to determine the achievement of the learning objective. The result of the data analysis showed that the English semester test questions were 24 items (60%) were valid questions and 16 items (40%) were invalid questions, and 3 items (7.5%) were at satisfactory validity level, 18 items (45%) were at satisfactory validity level, and 9 items (22.5%) were at poor validity level, 10 items (25%) were at very bad validity level. The result of the analysis showed that the quality of test items was valid 60% and invalid questions were 40. Based on the data analysis, it was concluded that the quality of the test items was good validity. The test items already got the achievement of learning objective.
