Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan Prestasi Siswa dalam Menulis Paragraf Deskripsi melalui Model Examples non Examples pada Kelas VIII-7 di SMP N 4 Tarakan. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar pengamatan aktifitas guru dan lembar pengamatan aktifitas siswa, catatan lapangan dan tes tertulis. Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus II sebanyak 81% dari 37 siswa yang telah meningkat sebanyak 35% dari siklus I. Kesimpulan penelitian tindakan kelas ini yang menggunakan model Examples non Examples dalam menulis deskripsi paragraf pada siswa kelas VIII-7 di SMP N 4 Tarakan dapat meningkatkan prestasi menulis siswa.
The objective of the research was to improve the students? achievement in writing descriptive paragraph through examples non examples model at class VIII – 7 of SMP N 4. This CAR (Class Action Research) was conducted in two cycle. Each cycle consists of four stages; planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The instruments used by the researcher were observation sheet for teacher?s activities, observation sheet for students? activities, field notes and written test. The result of students? success in cycle II was 81% of 37 students which had increased 35% of the cycle I. The conclusion in this CAR (Class Action Research) which using examples non examples model in teaching descriptive paragraph at class VIII – 7 of SMP N 4 Tarakan could improve the students? writing achievement.
