Abstract

Mesin pencacah memiliki berbagai macam komponen, salah satu komponen utama yang mempengaruhi kinerja mesin pencacah adalah mata pisau. Adapun yang mendasari dilakukannya modifikasi mata pisau mesin pencacah limbah pertanian yaitu, mata pisau yang digunakan pada sebelumnya memiliki kinerja yang kurang optimal sehingga dapat menyebabkan kualitas pemotongan bahan belum optimal dan seragam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja mesin pencacah limbah pertanian setelah digunakan mata pisau yang dimodifikasi. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai dari bulan November hingga Maret 2021. Bertempat di Laboratorium Mekanisasi, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Borneo Tarakan. Penelitian ini terdiri beberapa tahapan yaitu identifikasi masalah, modifikasi mata pisau, uji kinerja dan analisis data. Parameter penelitian yang digunakan adalah menghitung kapasitas efektif alat (kg/jam), kecepatan linear (m/s), rendemen (%), suhu mesin penggerak (t), dan kecepatan electromotor (RPM). Dari hasil analisis data berdasarkan parameter yang digunakan diperoleh nilai kapasitas efektif alat 9,14 kg/jam, kecepatan linear 5,28 m/s, rendemen 91,4%, rata – rata suhu 68,3 °C dan rata – rata kecepatan electromotor 234,9 rpm pada mata pisau standar. Kinerja tebaik mesin pencacah limbah pertanian yaitu pada saat menggunakan mata pisau hasil modifikasi dengan sudut kemiringan mata pisau 10° dengan nilai kapasitas efektif alat 16,35 kg/jam, kecepatan linear 6,20 m/s, rendemen 96,5%, rata-rata suhu55,5 °C dan rata-rata kecepatan electromotor 275,4 rpm.

The blade is one pf the most important components that affects the operation of the chopping machine. The rational for the modification of the blade in chopping machine was for agricultural waste, and the blade used before had a less optimal performance, causing the material cutting quality to be less optimal and uniform. The aim of thin study was to see how well a changed blade improves the performance of an agricultural was chopper. The study took place between November and March of 2021. The Mechanization Laboratory was located in Borneo University Tarakan’s Faculty of Agriculture. This study had numerous parts, including problem identification, blade modification, performance testing, and data analysis. Calculating the tool’s effective capacity (kg/hour), linear speed (m/s), yield (%), engine temperature (t), and electromotor speed were the research parameters employed (RPM). According to the results of data analysis based on the parameters employed, the tool’s effective capacity was 9.14 kg/hour, linear speed was 5.28 m/s, yield was 91.4%, average temperature was 68.3 °C, and average electomotor speed was 234,9 rpm on a standart blade. When utilizing a modified blade with a blade with a blade tilt angle of 10°, an effective tool capacity value was 16.35 kg/hour, linear speed was 6.20 m/s, yield was 96.5%, the average temperature was 55.5°C, and the average electromotor speed was 275.4 rpm, the agricultural waste chooper performed well.
