Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan permasalahan – permasalahan apa saja yang dihadapi oleh guru PPL Bahasa Inggris dalam melaksanakan kegiatan persiapan belaja rmengajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantatif dimana subjek dari penelitian ini adalah guru PPL Bahasa Inggrisdi SMPN 5 Tarakan yang mengajar dikelas Tujuh tahun pembelajaran 2012/2013. Sekolah ini berlokasi di jalan Kusuma Bangsa Kelurahan Gunung Lingkas Tarakan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni 2013. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuisioner dan dokumen analisis. Kuisioner ditujukan kepada guru PPL Bahasa Inggri suntuk mengetahui permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru selama proses persiapan mengajar dilaksanakan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa permasalahan yang dihadapioleh guru PPL Bahasa Inggris dalam melaksanakan kegiatan persiapan mengajar. Diantaranya: Pertama, berkaitan dengan written plans yang telah dibuat oleh guru, permasalahan yang muncul yaitu guru kurang memiliki pengalaman dan referensi tentang persiapan pengajaran yang harus dilakukan. Kedua, berkaitan dengan pembuatan RPP, guru menghadapi kesulitan dalam menentukan alokasi waktu dan tujuan pembelajaran dalam pembuatan RPP. Ketiga, berkaitan dengan persiapan penggunaan metode pengajaran, masalah yang dihadapi oleh guru adalah guru kesulitan menentukan metode pengajaran apa yang cocok dengan materi ajar yang akan diberikan serta tujuan pembelajaran. Keempat, berkaitan dengan pengembangan materi ajar, kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh guru adalah bagaimana menentukan materi ajar berdasarkan aspek pengetahuan, kemampuan dan kepribadian siswa. Kelima, berkaitan dengan media pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam kegiatan belajar, permasalahan yang dihadapi yaitu kurangnya fasilitas pendukung kegiatan pembelajaran disekolah. Terakhir, berkaitan dengan konsep penilaian yang digunakan, permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru adalah guru kesulitan menentukan jumlah soal dan menentukan tingkat kesulitan soal. Berdasarkan penjelasan diatas dapat disimpulkan bahwa banyak permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru PPL Bahasa Inggris dalam melaksanakan kegiatan proses persiapan pengajaran.




The objectives of this research wasdescribed some problems faced by the English teacher trainees in conducting the teaching preparation. This research used descriptive quantitative design that the sample of this research were the English teacher traineeswho taught at SMP 5 Tarakan in seventh grade, academic year 2012/2013. This school located in Jalan Kusuma bangsa, Gunung Lingkas Tarakan. This research was conducted on June. The instruments of the research used questionnaire and document review. The questionnaire distributed to the English teacher trainees to know the problems faced by the English teacher trainees in conducting the teaching preparation. The result showed that there were many problems faced by the English teacher trainees in conducting the teaching preparation, such as: The first, in making the written plans, the English teacher trainees have low experiences about prepare the teaching preparation and kurangnya referensi in making the written plans. The second, in making the written plans especially for Lesson Unit (RPP), the teacher trainees said that they have problems. The third, in planning the teaching method, the problems faced bythe English teacher trainees were difficult to determine the appropriate method with the topic being taugh and determining the suitable method for the students competence. They difficult to decide the method, which can make the students’ interest to Engish. It is not easy to motivate the students who have different ability and interest in English. Then the other problems was determine the suitable method with the purpose of study. The fourh, in developing the instructional material, some of them, faced the problem in constructing the materials that direct to the aspect knowledge , skills and attitude. The English teacher trainees said that they difficult to find out the materials of listening. It is known that all of them still depend on the textbook eventhough sometimes they used internet to find the other resource for learning materials.Next, in planning the teaching media, some of them didn’t prepare any media, because there no teaching media available in the school for support the teaching learning process. The last problems faced by the English teacher trainees in conducting the teaching preparation was planning the test. The problems were they difficult to determine the total of the test, determine the level of the test and difficult to find out the references for making the test. The result indicated that, there were some problems faced by the English language teacher in conducting the evaluation.
