Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar yang sesuai bagi siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. Bahan ajar tersebut juga dikembangkan untuk mempermudah siswa mencapai kriteria kelulusan dalam satu topik pembelajaran dan satu keterampilan berbahasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian dan pengembangan. Tahapan pengembangan bahan ajar meliputi analisis kebutuhan, mendesain bahan ajar, mengembangkan bahan ajar, validasi ahli, uji coba, evaluasi dan revisi dan hasil akhir. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Jumlah sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah 70 siswa dari 220 siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. Aspek-aspek pengembangan materi ajar mencangkup (1) Standar kompetensi dan kompetensi dasar; (2) indikator; (3) tujuan pembelajaran; (4) materi pembelajaran; (5) evalusi; (6) sumber materi. Dalam merancang bahan ajar, isi materi serta penggunaan bahasa dalam bahan ajar terlebih dahulu di validasi oleh ahli. Hal ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kesesuaian bahasa dan isi materi untuk siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. Bahan ajar yang telah divalidasi, bahan ajar kemudian diuji coba kepada siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan untuk melihat keefektifan dari penggunaan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah seperangkat bahan ajar yang terfokus pada materi Recount Text dan dikemas dalam keterampilan membaca.




The objective of this research was to develop the instructional materials which were appropriate for the eighth grade students in SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. The instructional materials also developed to help the students easier to reach the criteria of success in the competence standard. The instructional materials developed based on the most difficult topic and skill for the Eighth Grade students. The research design in this research was research and development (R&D) design. There some stages to develop the instructional materials. The stages were need analysis, developing the materials, expert validation, evaluation and revision and final product. The subject of this research was all the Eighth grade students in SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. The sample was chosen two classes randomly by lottery the name of the classes. The total sample of this research was seventy students from 220 students in the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. The aspects of developing the instructional materials were (1) competence standard and basic competence; (2) indicator; (3) the learning objectives; (4) learning materials; (5) evaluation; (6) references. In developing the instructional materials, the materials and language form in the instructional materials was validated by the experts. It was intended to find out if the language form and the leaning materials appropriate to the eighth grade students in SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. The instructional material which had been validated by the expert then delivered to the students for try-out. This stage intended to check the effectiveness of the instructional materials. The final product of this research was a set of instructional materials focused on Recount text topic which was developed in reading skill.
