Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa menggunakan model Picture and Picture. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Mulawarman Tarakan yang berlokasi di jalan Seroja mulai dari tanggal 10 April sampai dengan 2 Mei 2013. Obyek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas sepuluh a (X-A) di SMA Mulawarman Tarakan tahun pembelajaran 2012/2013 yang terdiri dari 34 siswa. Obyek di berikan materi pelajaran tentang Writing Descriptive Paragraph dengan menggunakan Picture And Picture Model. Kriteria ketuntasan minimum pada penelitian ini adalah ?70. Untuk menentukan keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini yaitu 70% dari jumlah siswa kelas X-A dapat mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum yang telah ditetapkan. Untuk memastikan pemahaman menulis siswa telah diberikan tes dalam bentuk membuat teks deskripsi. Hasil pada penelitian siklus I, dua puluh sembilan siswa atau 71% dari jumlah siswa yang tidak mencapai criteria kentuntasan minimum dan lima siswa atau 29% dari jumlah siswa yang telah mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum. Sedangkan pada hasil penelitian siklus II, delapan siswa atau 24% dari jumlah siswa yang tidak mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum dan dua puluh enam siswa atau 76% dari jumlah siswa yang telah mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum. Berdasarkan pada hasil penelitian ini, yang mana 76% dari jumlah siswa telah mencapai criteria ketuntasan minimum. Picture And Picture Model yang telah diterapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa kelas X-A di SMA Mulawarman Tarakan.




The objective of this research is to improve the students Achievement In Composing Descriptive Paragraph through Picture And Picture Model At The Tenth A Grade (X-A) Of SMA Mulawarman Tarakan. This research was conducted in SMA Mulawarman Tarakan located on Seroja Street from started on 10th April 2013 until 2nd May 2013. The object of this research was the tenth a grade students (X-A) of SMA Mulawarman Tarakan in academic year 2012/2013 class consisted of 34 students. The objects were taught writing Descriptive paragraph through picture and picture as learning model. The minimum criteria of success in this research was ?70. To determine the success of this research which is 70% of the total tenth a grade (X-A) students was achieve the minimum criteria of success. To measure the writing descriptive paragraph of students, researcher gave writing descriptive paragraph tests. The test result in cycle I, there was twenty nine students or 71% from total students which did not achieve the minimum criteria of success and five students or 29% from total students which could achieve the minimum criteria of success. While the result of cycle II, eight students or 24% from total students which didn’t achieve the minimum criteria of success and twenty six students or 76% from total students which could achieve the minimum criteria of success. Based on the result of this research, there was 76% from total students which achieve the minimum criteria of success. Based on result above, the researcher can draw a conclusion that Pictue and Picture model can improve the students’ achivement writing in composing descriptive paragraph at tenth a grade (X-A) students of SMA Mulawarman Tarakan.
