Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa menggunakan teknik jigsaw siswa VIII-A di SMP Mulawarman Tarakan. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis, lembar observasi untuk siswa dan lembar observasi untuk guru. Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus II adalah 92% dari 38 siswa dan hanya 8% yang gagal. Kesimpulan penelitian tindakan kelas ini yang menggunakan teknik jigsaw pada pengajaran materi naratif teks pada siswa kelas (VIII-A) di SMP Mulawarman Tarakan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa.




The objective of the research was to improve the students’ reading comprehension through jigsaw technique at eighth (VIII-A) grade students in SMP Mulawarman Tarakan. This CAR (Class Action Research) was conducted in two cycle. Each cycle consists of four stages; those were planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The instruments used by the researcher were written test, observation sheet to students’ and observation notes to teacher. The result of students’ success in cycle II was 92% of 38 students and only 8% were failed. The conclusion in this CAR (Class Action Research) which using jigsaw technique in teaching narrative text at eighth (VIII-A) grade students in SMP Mulawarman Tarakan could improve the students’ reading comprehension.
