Abstract

Pembelajaran bahasa inggris dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Example non Example bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kemampuan menulis siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir siswa dan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII-6 pada semester genap di SLTP Negeri 4 Tarakan Rancangan penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Tahap ini terdiri dari : perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII-6 dengan jumlah siswa 34. Instrument yang digunakan yaitu observasi guru, lembar observasi siswa dan tes kemampuan menulis. Teknik dalam menganalisis data adalah statistik kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil pengelolahan dan analisis data tentang hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Example non Example pada kelas VII-6 adalah meningkat. Berdasarkan penilaian hasil belajar tes menulis siswa pada siklus pertama ada 22 atau 65% siswa mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal kemudian pada siklus kedua meningkat menjadi 29 atau 85% siswa mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal. Hasil dari pengamatan aktivitas siswa guru dan siswa dalam kategori sangat baik. Model pembelajaran Example non Example dapat membantu siswa dalam mengembangkan berpikir siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil siswa penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Example non Example efektif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa dalam mengarang teks descriptive selama proses pembelajaran.




English learning used cooperative learning type Example non Example aimed to describe the level of students’ writing skills. The purpose of this research was to improve students’ thinking skills and the students’ result study class VII-6 on second semester at SLTP Negeri 4 Tarakan. The design of this study was Class Action Research (CAR). The procedures of the research were consisted: planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The subject of the research was 34 students at class VII-6. Instrument of the research were the observation sheet and written test. The technique of analizing the data used quantitative statistic procedure. Based on the result of processing and analizing data about students result study through cooperative learning type Example non Example at class VII-6 was improve. Based on the assessment of the students’ result study on writing test first cycle was found 22 or 65% students reached the criteria of success, then improved in the second cycle to 29 or 85% students reached the criteria of success. The result of observation for teacher and students activity was very good. Model learning Example non Example could help students develop thinking students in learning process. Based on the results of this study concluded that students’ model learning type Example non Example effective can improve students’ writing skill in composing descriptive text during learning process.
