Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Think Pair and Share terhadap hasil belajar biologi dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan September 2013 di SMPN 3 Tarakan. Jenis penelitian eksperimen semu dengan populasi siswa kelas VIII dan sampel sebanyak 2 kelas. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Cluster Purposive Sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan software SPSS 16.0 for Window. Teknik analisis data dengan uji MANOVA dilanjutkan dengan uji Independent sample t-test. Hasil analisis pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Think Pair and Share terhadap hasil belajar biologi dan keterampilan berpikir kritis diperoleh (F=8,830;p ttabel dan untuk kemampuan berpikir kritis diperoleh thitung 3,206 pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 dan dk=58 diperoleh nilai ttabel 1,671 berarti thitung > ttabel. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan 1) terdapat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair and share terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa SMPN 3 Tarakan. 2) terdapat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair and Share terhadap keterampilan berfikir kritis siswa SMPN 3 Tarakan.




The objectives of this study is to find out the effect of implementation of Think Pair and Share Cooperative Learning model toward the biology learning outcome and students’ critical thinking ability. This study was conducted on September 2013 at SMPN 3 Tarakan. This study is quasi experimental with students in grade VIII as the population and the sample are 2 classes. The technique of sampling is using Cluster Purposive Sampling. The data was analyzed by using SPSS 16.0 software for windows. The technique of data analysis used the MANOVA test which was followed by test of independent sample t-test. The analysis result on the effect of implementation think pair and share learning model toward the biology learning outcome and the critical learning ability obtained (F =8,830; p ttabel and for the critical thinking obtained tcount 3,206 on the significant level 0,05 and dk=58 score obtained 1,671 it means that t count > ttabel. Based on the data analysis it can be concluded that there is 1) the effect of implementation of Think Pair and Share cooperative learning model toward the biology learning outcome at SMPN 3 Tarakan. 2) the effect of implementation of Think Pair and Share cooperative learning model toward the students’ critical thinking ability at SMPN 3 Tarakan.
