Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kontribusi dan pengaruh sector industry pariwisata terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja di Kota Tarakan selama tahun 2009 – 2013. Setelah melakukan penelitian dan peninjauan langsung di lapangan maka diperoleh hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: Dari 28 Hotel yang ada di Kota Tarakan menyerap tenaga kerja sebanyak 3209 orang. Hal tersebut dapat dibuktikan dengan hasil tinjauan langsung penulis kelokasi penelitian (Hotel). Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan Uji T-test dan Uji F-test Jumlah hotel, Wisatawan domestik, Wisatawan asing sangat berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja di sector industry pariwisata.

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of the tourism industry and the effect on employment in Tarakan during the years 2009-2013. After doing research and direct observation in the field it is obtained the following results: of the 28 hotels in the city of Tarakan employment for 3209 people. This can be evidenced by the results of the review directly to the author of the study site (Hotel). Based on the calculation results obtained by using t-Tests and Test F-test The number of hotels, domestic tourists, foreign tourists very significant effect on employment in the tourism industry.
