Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi dari model Picture and Picture dalam menulis teks procedure untuk kelas satu SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan tahun pengajaran 2015/2016 Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru Bahasa Inggris kelas satu di SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. Siswa diberikan materi pelajaran tentang teks procedure dengan menggunakan model Picture and Picture. Desain penelitian ini penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggambarkan secara faktual implementasi model Picture and Picture dalam pengajaran keterampilan menulis pada materi teks procedure pada siswa kelas satu di SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan dengan menggunakan instrumen dokumen, lembar observasi dan wawancara. Data yang sudah diperoleh akan dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru menyiapkan dokumen-dokumen sebelum proses belajar mengajar seperti silabus dan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) yang akan diimplementasikan ke siswa. Beberapa siswa dapat bekerjasama dan saling menolong satu sama lain selama implementasi model Picture and Picture model dan siswa yang lainnya bekerja sendiri. Siswa dapat mengerti materi ketika mereka berdiskusi dengan pasangan mereka untuk menjawab tes tertulis dan sebagian besar siswa tidak mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi model Picture and Picture yang dilakukan oleh guru bahasa inggris SMP 10 Tarakan dalam mengajar Writing pada teks procedure termasuk dalam kategori kurang. Hasil tersebut didukung dengan pembenaran yang peneliti jabarkan pada aspek persiapan mengajar, proses mengajar dan dalam melakukan evaluasi ke hasil tes siswa.


The objective of this research was to describe the implementation of Picture and Picture Model in Writing Procedure Text at The First Grade Students of SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan Academic Year 2015/2016. The subject of this research was the English teacher at the first grade of SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. The students were taught procedure text material through Picture and Picture as teaching model. The design of this research was descriptive qualitative research. It described factually about the implementation of Picture and Picture model in teaching writing on procedure text at the first grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan by using some instruments: document analysis, observation sheet and interview guide. The data were analyzed using descritive qualitative. The results of this research showed that teacher prepared the documents before the teaching learning process such as syllabus and lesson plan that teacher implemented to the students. Some students could work together and helped each other during the implementation of Picture and Picture model and the other students worked individually. The students can understand the material when they discussed together with their group to answer the written test and most of the students can not reach the minimum criteria of success. It can be concluded that the quality of English teacher in implementing Picture and Picture model in teaching writing procedure text at the first grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan was descrease. It was supported by the justification that the researcher elaborated in aspect of teaching preparation, teaching process and conducting the evaluation to students.
