Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Efektivitas penggunaan model Discovery Learning dipadu Think Pair and Share terhadap pemahaman konsep dan keaktifan siswa pada pelajaran IPA . Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2015 di SMP Negeri 1 Tarakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimen semu (quasi-eksperiment) dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tarakan Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015, dan sampel yaitu kelas VII – 9 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII - 5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Purposive sampling dan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumentasi, tes dan lembar observasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan software SPSS.22 for Windows. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat Efektivitas penggunaan model Discovery Learning dipadu Think Pair and Share terhadap pemahaman konsep dan keaktifan siswa pada pelajaran IPA, karena nilai thitung yang diperoleh sebesar 3,829 untuk pemahaman konsep dan 10,728 untuk keaktifan siswa lebih besar dari ttabel 1,672.




The objective of this study was to know the effectiveness of the using of the Discovery Learning model combined with Think Pair and Share model to the concept understanding and the activeness of student on science learning in grade VII SMPN 1 Tarakan. This research was conducted on May 2015 in SMPN 1 Tarakan. This research was using quasi-experiment research with the whole population was the grade VII student of SMPN 1 Tarakan 2014/2015 academic year, and the sample was VII-9 as the experiment class and VII-5 as the control class. The sampling technique was using purposive sampling and the technique of collecting data was using documentation, test and observasion . Analysis data was using SPSS.22 for windows software. Based on the result of data analysis can be concluded that there was an effectiveness of the using of the Discovery Learning model combined with Think Pair and Share model for the understanding of the student concept and the active student on study IPA in grade VII of SMPN 1 Tarakan, because tvalue was 3,829 for the understanding of the concept and 10,728 for the students active was bigger than ttable 1,672.
