Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap hasil belajar IPA ranah pengetahuan, sikap sosial dan keterampilan siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan mulai bulan Maret sesudah bulan April 2015 di SMPN 4 Tarakan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan populasi siswa kelas VII dan sampel sebanyak 2 kelas. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Cluster Purposive Sampling. Data di analisis menggunakan software SPSS 16.0 for Window. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji T. Hasil analisis pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa ranah pengetahuan berdasarkan Tes Pilihan ganda (Pretest dan Postest) nilai thitung 5,013 > ttabel 1,6663 dan terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap hasil belajar IPA ranah sikap sosial berdasarkan lembar observasi siswa, maka nilai thitung 3,673 > ttabel 1,6663 sedangkan ranah keterampilan berdasarkan lembar observasi siswa nilai thitung 3,754 > t tabel 1,6663. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap hasil belajar IPA kelas VII SMPN 4 Tarakan.



The purpose of this research was to determine the influence of using Discovery learning model towards the students’ outcomes IPA through knowledge, social attitude, and the students’ skills. This research was conducted on March 2015 at SMPN 4 Tarakan. This research was Quasi-Experimental research design, the population of this research was all of students in class VII and the sample was 2 classes. The sample was taken by using Cluster Purposive sampling. The data was analyzed by using SPSS 16.0 for windows. The technique of analyses data was used t-test. The analyses result of the influence of using Discovery learning model towards the students’ outcomes IPA. The research of this research showed that there was significant effect of using Discovery learning model towards the students’ outcomes IPA through knowledge based on multiple choice test (pretest-posttest) t-value 5.013 > t-table 1.6663 and there significant effect of using Discovery learning model towards the students’ outcomes IPA through social attitude based on the students’ observation sheet t-value 3.673 > t-table 1.6663 while the students’ skills based on the students’ observation sheet was t-value 3.754 > t-table 1.6663. It can be concluded that, there was an influence of using Discovery learning model towards the students’ outcomes IPA of SMPN 4 Tarakan.
