Abstract
This research is discusses political law on sustainable fisheries management to support investment. This is a doctrinal law research, relies on legislation and conceptual approach method to study existing legal related problems. In principle, policies and politics on fisheries management have supported Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is evident and reflected in various law and legislation that issued by the government since 2015. However, in reality, overfishing still occurs in some areas. This is expected to continue, as in the recent years, the government is increasing their efforts to attract as many investments as possible into Indonesia, including in the field of fisheries. The purposes are both to strengthen economic development, as well as to increase Indonesia’s Ease of Doing Bussiness (EoDB) rank. In order to achieve the abovementioned purposes, the government has provided several supporting fiscal facilities and ease of licensing. Moreover, some investments are not required to have
Permit Letter prior to their operation as regulated in Government Regulation (PP) 28/2018 and Presidential Decree (Perpres) 91/2017. In this politic of law as reflected in PP 28/2018 and Perpres 91/2017 have potential to inhibit the country’s commitment to achieve SDGs.
