Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode Student Created Case Studies terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa di kelas VIII SMP N 5 Tarakan. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama bulan Mei 2015 di SMP N 5 Tarakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimen semu (quasi eksperiment) dengan esain penelitian Pretest-Posttest Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII dan sampel sebanyak 2 kelas, pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumentasi, tes pilihan ganda dan observasi. Analisis data menggunakan bantuan software SPSS 16.0 for windows. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan metode pembelajaran Student Created Case Studies (Studi Kasus) terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelasVIII SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan, karena nilai thitung (2,970) lebih besar dibandingkan ttabel (1,6736).

The purpose of this study to determine the effect of the application of methods Student Created Case Studies on learning outcomes of students in biology class VIII SMP N 5 Tarakan. This research was conducted during the month of May 2015 at SMP N 5 Tarakan. This study used a quasi-experimental (quasi experiment) with a pretest-posttest study design Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were students of class VIII and two classes of samples, sampling was done by using purposive sampling. Data collection technique used documentation, multiple choice tests and observation. Data analysis using SPSS 16.0 for Windows. Based on the results of data analysis can be concluded that there are significant application of learning methods Student Created Case Studies (Case Study) to the learning outcomes of students kelasVIII SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan, because tcount (2,970) than ttabel (1.6736).
