Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil hasil Ujian Nasional Bahasa Inggris Siswa SMA di Tarakan dan mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan hasil Ujian Nasional Bahasa Inggris ditinjau dari status sekolah, jenis kelamin, jurusan, prestasi siswa, dan kecamatan. Jumlah siswa SMA di Tarakan pada tahun ajaran 2018/2019 ada 1615 siswa. Hasil ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa di sekolah negeri lebih tinggi daripada siswa di sekolah swasta, (2) tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan dalam ujian nasional bahasa inggris (3) siswa di jurusan IPA lebih baik Dibanding IPS, (4) Prestasi siswa berdasarkan UN bahasa Inggris masuk dalam kategori rendah, (5) Kecamatan yang mendapat nilai tertinggi pertama adalah Tarakan barat, kedua Tarakan timur, ketiga adalah Tarakan utara, dan yang terakhir adalah Tarakan tengah. Adapun empat dari lima variabel menunjukkan nilai signifikansi yang di peroleh lebih rendah dari taraf signifikan (0,05). Ho ditolak. Diindikasikan bahwa terdapat perbedaan Ujian Nasional Bahasa Inggris SMA di Tarakan ditinjau dari status sekolah, jurusan, prestasi belajar siswa, dan kecamatan.
This study aimed to describe the profile of English National Examination results of Senior High School Students in Tarakan and find out whether there ware differences in English National Examination results in terms of school status, gender, major, student’s achievement, and sub-district. There were 1615 Senior High School students in Tarakan in the 2018/2019 academic year. These research used a quantitative method. It was found that (1)the examination results of students in public schools were higher than students in private schools, (2) There was no significant difference between male and female students in the English National Examination results (3) In major, students in natural science were better than those in social science, (4) The result of the English national examination based students achievement was in a poor category, (5) Sub-district that received the highest score was west Tarakan, followed by the east Tarakan, north Tarakan, and the last was central Tarakan. The significant value of the five variables, were lower than the level of significant (0.05), meaning that the. Ho was rejected. It was indicated that there were differences in the English National Examination of Senior High School in Tarakan in terms of school status, major, student achievement, and sub-district
