Abstract
Metode yang bisa digunakan untuk menilai kualitas perairan adalah dengan melalui pendekatan ekosistem, atau yang lebih dikenal dengan metode Pendekatan Ekosistem terhadap Pengelolaan Perikanan (EAFM). Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kualitas lingkungan perairan Laut Pulau Tarakan mengunakan pendekatan EAFM melalui domain habitat. Penelitian ini mulai dilaksanakan pada bulan April hingga Juni 2018. Sampel diambil pada 7 stasiun dan dilakukan 5 kali pengulangan. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara Insitu dan exsitu. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan suhu berkisar antara 29-30 oC, pH 8-8,14, Salinitas berkisar antara 24-27 ppt, Kekeruhan berkisar antara 0,02-0,04 NTU, Total Suspended Solid (TSS) berkisar antara 211,2-220,4 mg/L, Dissolved Oxygen (DO) berkisar antara 6-7 mg/L, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5) berkisar antara 15,5-29,6 mg/L, Amoniak berkisar antara 0,041-0,067 mg/L, Fosfat berkisar antara 0,091-0,119 mg/L, dan Nitrat 0,123-0,277 mg/L.

The method that can be used to assess the quality of the waters is through the ecosystem approach, or better known as the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) method. The purpose of this study to determine the quality of the Tarakan Island marine environment using the EAFM approach through the habitat domain. This study was started from April to June 2018. Samples were taken at 7 stations and 5 repetitions were performed. This research is done by Insitu and exsitu. The results of this study show the temperature ranges from 29-30 C, pH 8-8.14, Salinity range between 24-27 ppt, Turbidity ranged between 0.02-0.04 NTU, Total Suspended Solid (TSS) ranged from 211.2-220.4 mg/L, Dissolved Oxygen (DO) ranged from 6-7 mg/L, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5) ranged from 15.5-29.6 mg/L, Ammonia ranged from 0.041-0.067 mg/L, Phosphate ranged from 0.091-0.119 mg/L, and Nitrate 0.123-0.277 mg/L.
