Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the effect of self-efficacy on the students’ mathematical achievement; (2) the effect of self-regulated learning on the students’ mathematical achievement; (3) the effect of self-efficacy and self-regulated learning on the students’ mathematical achievement of IX MTs DDI Tarakan. This research was conducted during the second semester of the 2019/2020 school year. The research used was quantitative research using survey methods. The sample of the study was 61 ninth-graders at MTs DDI Tarakan. The technique of data collection was distributing self-efficacy and self-regulation questionnaires and the student’s mathematical achievement record. The data obtained were processed by the statistical data processing programme, SPSS 23.0. The results showed that there is a partially significant influenced between self-efficacy and the mathematical learning outcomes with the regression equation J1 = 32,771 + 0.385 X, and self-regulated learning partly significant affected the student's math learning outcomes with a regression equation J2 = 34.033 + 0.266 X. Furthermore, the research results indicated that self-efficacy and self-regulated learning contributed significant simultaneous to student’s learning achievement with the regression equation Y = 25.943 + 0.279X1 + 0.144X2. Moreover, the coefficient of determination demonstrated that self-efficacy and self-regulated learning contribute an effect of 15.1% simultaneously.
