Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada efek yang signifikan dari penggunaan teknik dua tinggal dua mencar dalam meningkatkan nilai membaca siswa dalam memahami teks deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas tujuh di MTs. Negeri Tarakan. Populasi berjumalh 100 siswa. Penentuan sample dengan cara sampel yang randem. Ada dua group sebagai sampel dalam penelitian ini. mereka adalah experimental group dan control group. kelas VII-A sebagai kelas experimental dan kelas VII-B sebagai kelas control. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 50 siswa. setiap kelas berjumlah 25 siswa. Instrument dalam penelitian ini adalah tes. Tes ini terdiri dari 30 soal pilihan ganda. Peneliti mengajar menggunakan teknik Two Stay Two Stray di kelas experimental. Di kelas control mengajar menggunakan teknik jigsaw. Peneliti menganalisis data menggunakan Paired Sample t-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan peningkatan nilai rata- rata siswa di kelas experiment dan kelas control setelah treatment. Terlihat berdasarkan nilai rata- rata dan nilai t-Test. Rata- rata nilai di kelas experimental adalah 79.68 lebih tinggi daripada kelas control 66.04. hasil data analisis ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan pda nilai pemahaman membaca siswa antara kelas experimental dan kelas control. T-Test di analisis menggunakan SPSS. 16.0. Berdasarkan hasil diatas, hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik Two Stay Two Stray lebih effectife dalam meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa di kelas satu.
The study aimed at investigating the significant difference between pretest and posttest of the use of Two Stay Two Stray Technique to improve students’ reading comprehension score on descriptive text. The population of this study was the first grade students of MTs. Negeri Tarakan. The total number of population was 125 students. The sample was taken by using cluster random sampling technique. There were two groups of sample in this research. They were experimental and control group. class A was as the experimental group and class B was as the control group. the sample of this study was consist of 50 students. Which each class was consist of 25 students. The instrument in this research is test. The test consist of 30 multiple choices. The researcher taught by using Two Stay Two Stray Technique in the experimental group and the control group taught by using Jigsaw technique. The researcher was analyzed the pretest and posttest score of both group (experimental and control) by using paired sample t-test. The result of the research showed that there was significant differences of students’ mean score between the experimental group and the control group after the treatment. It was proven by the mean score and the t-test score. The mean score of experimental group is 79.68 was higher than control group is 66.04. The result of data analysis indicated that there was a significant difference on the students’ reading comprehension score between the experimental group and the control group. The t-test was analyzed by the SPSS 16.0. Based on the results above, it can be concluded that Two Stay Two Stray Technique was more effective in improving students’ reading comprehension at the first grade.
