Abstract

Pemanfaatan gulma sebagai mulsa organik untuk mengendalikan gulma masih terbatas informasinya, khususnya pada tanaman bawang merah. Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) mengetahui jenis gulma pada berbagai pengunaan mulsa organik rerumputan, dan (2) mengetahui pengaruh jenis mulsa organik terhadap pertumbuhan gulma. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) 1 faktor (pemberian mulsa organik). Terdapat 5 perlakuan yaitu P0 (Kontrol), P1 (mulsa alang-alang), P2 (mulsa teki-teki), P3 (mulsa belulang), P4 (mulsa grinting) dan diulang sebanyak 5 kali dengan pemberian mulsa organik sebanyak 3 kg di setiap bedengan. Parameter utama yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini analisis vegetasi awal, jenis gulma, jumlah gulma, berat basah pupus gulma, berat kering pupus gulma. Analisis data mengunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) dengan taraf 95%, serta uji lanjut menggunakan Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan; (1) Terdapat 11 spesies gulma yang ditemukan pada tanaman bawang merah yakni E. Indica, A. conyzoides, C. rutidosperma, B. latifolia, L. hyssopifolia, C. crepidiodes, C. rontundus, A. aspera, P. ninuri, C. dactylon, dan H. difusa, (2) Pemberian perlakuan mulsa organik rerumputan memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah gulma umur 2 MST dan 4 MST, kerapatan gulma umur 4 MST, persentase penutupan gulma 2 MST, 4 MST dan 6 MST. Namun, tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap jenis gulma 6 MST, kerapatan gulma 2 MST dan 6 MST, berat basah bobot gulma dan berat kering bobot gulma, (3) Jenis mulsa organik alang-alang dengan berat 3 kg per 1 m2 mampu menekan pertumbuhan gulma. Tetapi pemberian mulsa organik belulang dan grinting berpotensi meningkatkan kerapatan gulma dan penutupan gulma pada petak perlakuan.

The information about weed as organic mulch to control weeds is still limited, especially on shallots. This study (1) determine the types of weeds in the use of various organic mulch grasses, and (2) to determine the effect of organic mulch types on weed growth. This research used a one-factor randomized block design (organic mulch). There were 5 treatments in this study, namely P0 (control), P1 (alang-alang mulch), P2 (teka-teki mulch), P3 (belulang mulch), P4 (Grinting mulch) and replication of 5 times with the edition of 3 kg of organic mulch in each bed. The main parameters used in this study were analysis of initial vegetation, type of weed, number of weeds, weed wet weight, and weed dry weight. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a level 95%, and further tests using the duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results of this study indicate that: (1) There were 11 Species of weeds found in shallot plants, namely E. Indica , A. conyzoides, C. Rutidosperm, B. Latifolia, L hyssopifolia, C. crepidiodes, C. Rontundus, A. aspera, P. ninuri, C. dactylon, and H. difusa; (2) prevision of organic mulch treatment for grass had a significant effect on the number of weeds aged 2 WAP and 4 WAP, weed density 4 WAP, percentage of weed cover 2 WAP,4 WAP and 6 WAP. However, it did not have a significant effect on the type of weed 6 MAP, the density of weed 2 MAP and 6 MAP, the wet weight of weeds and the dry weight of weeds; (3) the type of organic mulch weeds with a weight of 3 kg per 1 m2 were able to suppress the growth of weeds. However, the administration of organic mulch and grinting had the potential to increase weed density and weed closure in the treatment compartment. Keywords: Shallots, Weeds, Organic Mulch
