Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan implementasi model hink Pair Share dalam pemahaman membaca pada materi teks deskriptif pada swa kelas delapan di MTs Negeri Tarakan yang berlokasi di Kampung Empat Tarakan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru Bahasa Inggris kelas delapan di MTs Negeri Tarakan. Siswa diberikan materi pelajaran tentang Teks deskriptif ngan menggunakan model Think Pair Share. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggambarkan secara fakta tentang plementasi model Think Pair Share dalam mengajarkan membaca pada materi ks Deskriptif pada siswa kelas Delapan di MTs Negeri Tarakan dengan menggunakan analisa dokumen, lembar observasi dan wawancara. Data yang dapatkan lalu dianalisa dengan menggunakan model analisis aliran Miles & Huberman. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa guru menyiapkan dokumen-dokumen sebelum proses belajar mengajar seperti silabus dan rencana laksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) yang akan guru implementasikan ke siswa. berapa siswa dapat bekerjasama dan saling menolong satu sama lain selama plementasi model Think Pair Share dan murid yang lainnya bekerja sendiri. siswa dapat mengerti materi ketika mereka berdiskusi dengan pasangan mereka untuk menjawab tes tertulis dan sebagian besar siswa mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum. Dengan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi model Think Pair share yang guru Bahasa inggris MTs Negeri Tarakan lakukan dalam mengajar pemahaman membaca pada Teks Deskriptif adalah baik. Hasil itu didukung dengan pembenaran yang peneliti jabarkan pada aspek persiapan mengajar, proses mengajar dan melakukan evaluasi.


The objective of this research was to describe the implementation of Think Pair Share model in teaching reading on descriptive text at eight grade students of MTs Negeri Tarakan located on Kampung Empat Tarakan. The subject of this research was the English teacher at the eight grade of MTs Negeri Tarakan. The students were taught descriptive text material using Think Pair Share as teaching model. The design of this research was descriptive qualitative research. It described factually about the implementation of Think Pair Share model in teaching reading on descriptive text at the eight grade students of MTs Negeri Tarakan by using some instruments: document analysis, observation sheet and interview guide. The data obtained were analyzed using a flow model analysis of Miles & Huberman. The results of this research showed that the teacher prepared the documents before the teaching learning process such as syllabus and lesson plan that teacher implemented to the students. Some students could work together and helped each other during the implementation of Think Pair Share model and the other students worked individually. Students could comprehend the material when they discussed together with their partner to answer the written test and most of students achieved minimum criteria of success. It can be concluded that the implementation of Think Pair Share that the English teacher of MTs Negeri Tarakan did in teaching reading comprehension on descriptive text was good. It was supported by the justification that the researcher elaborated in aspect of teaching preparation, teaching process and conducting the evaluation.
