Upland rice farming in this region is an integral part of local tradition and cultural heritage, especially among the Dayak Kayan ethnic group, who have practiced it for generations using traditional agricultural methods rooted in mutual cooperation. Farmers in Mara Satu Village possess strong social capital, manifested through trust, shared norms, networks, participation, and communal work. This study aims to: (1) Describe the social capital of upland rice farmers in Mara Satu Village; and (2) Examine the relationship between social capital and the sustainability of upland rice farming in the village.
