Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penerapan Pembelajaran berbasis projek dikelas apresiasi sastra. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode campuran eksplanatoris berurutan. Subjek dari penelitian ini berjumlah 36 mahasiswa gabungan dari angkatan 2020 dan 2021 jurusan pendidikan bahasa inggris yang telah melaksanakan mata kuliah apresiasi sastra di Universitas Borneo Tarakan. Instrumen penelitian campuran ini menggunakan data kuantitatif (kuesioner) sebagai data utama kemudian dilengkapi dengan data kualitatif (wawancara dan analisis dokumen). Hasil angket kuesioner pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mempersepsikan penerapan proyek dikelas apresiasi dalam tiga aspek 1) perceiver yang mencakup attitude, motive, interest dan expectation (77,95%), 2) situation yang mencakup social setting (77,43%), 3) target yang mencakup novelty, motion, dan proximity (74,58%). Berdasarkan tiga aspek tersebut, dapat dilihat bahwa persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penerapan project-based learning dikelas apresiasi sastra termasuki dalam kategori “Tinggi” artinya mahasiswa memiliki persepsi yang positif. Hasil dari wawancara juga menunjukan persepsi positif dari mahasiswa karena selain dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kolaborasi, kemampuan berbicara, dan meningkatkan kreativitas dalam menciptakan sebuah karya sastra, pembelajaran berbasis proyek juga dapat membantu membangun rasa percaya diri mahasiswa, terutama dalam memperkenalkan sebuah karya sastra. Kesimpulannya, mahasiswa memberikan persepsi yang posityif terhadap penerapan project-based learning (PjBL) dikelas apresiasi sastra, namun ada beberapa mahasiswa yang mengalami kesulitan saat mengerjakan project dalam kelompok.

This study aims to determine students' perceptions about the implementation of project-based learning in literary appreciation classes. The research methodology utilized is a sequential explanatory mixed technique. This study involved 36 English department students in the academic year 2020-2021 who had taken literary appreciation courses at Borneo University Tarakan. This mixed research instrument utilizes quantitative data, in the form of questionnaires, as its primary source of information. It is complemented by qualitative data, obtained through interviews and document analysis, which enhance the research's comprehensiveness. The results of the questionnaire in this study indicate that students perceive the application of projects in appreciation classes from three perspectives: 1) the perceiver, which includes attitude, motive, interest, and expectation (77.95%), 2) the situation, which includes social setting (77.43%), and 3) the target, which includes novelty, motion, and proximity (74.58%).
