Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe “The Power Of Two” dalam pembelajaran matematika terhadap sikap asertif siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2016/2017 di SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan.
Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain posttest only. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan, yaitu kelas VIII-1 hingga kelas VIII-8. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara Simple Random Sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII-5 sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas VIII-8 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Tekni pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan angket sikap asertif siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan dan analisis inferensial Analisis deskriptif meliputi rata-rata hitung dan simpangan baku. Analisis inferensial menggunakan analisis uji t pihak kanan.
Berdasarkan hasil analisis inferensial setelah perlakuan dengan perhitungan menggunakan uji t pihak kanan dengan taraf signifikan 5% (a = 0,05) diperoleh nilai t hitung sebesar 2,054 dan nilai t table sebesar 1,671. Oleh karena nilai t hitung > t table atau 2,054 > 1,671 maka H1 diterima. Artinya strategi pembelajaran aktif tipe the power of two dalam pembelajaran matematika berpengaruh terhadap sikap asertif siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan.

The aims of this research is to find out the influence active learning “The Power Of Two” type in mathematic learning to the assertive attitude students of class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. The research conducted on the first semester in academic year 2016/2017 at SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. The research was a quasi experimental by using Posttest Only Design. The population in this research is all of eight grade students, there was class VIII-1 to class VIII-8. Samples were taken by simple random sampling. The sample in this research is class VIII-5 as the control class and class VIII-8 as the eksperimental class. Technique of collecting the data did by using students’ Assertive Attitude questionnaire. Technique od data analysis used descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis covering the arithmetic mean and standard deviation. Inferential analysis used right t-test. Based on the result of inferential analysis after treatment, with calculations by using right t-test with 5% (a = 0,05) significant level obtained value t count of 2,054 and value of t table of 1,671. Therefore, value t count > t table or 2,054 > 1,671 then H1 accepted. This is active learning strategy the power of two type in mathematic learning influence to the assertive attitude students of class VIII SMP 5 Tarakan.
