Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan.
Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 di SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VII SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara Simple Random Sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII-3 dan VII-4. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes hasil belajar siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan inferensial. Analisis deskriptif meliputi rata rata hitung dan simpangan baku. Analisis inferensial menggunakan analisis one sample t-test dan independent sample t-test.
Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan taraf signifikansi 5%, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning efektif terhadap hasil belajar siswa berdasarkan uji efektif dengan nilai -t tabel = -1.695 < t hitung = 1.769 dan uji beda rata-rata dua kelas sesudah diberikan perlakuan diperoleh nilai t hitung = 12.839 > t tabel = 1.670.

The aim of this research was to find the effectiveness of using Problem Based Learning Model to the 7th grade students of SMPN 10 Tarakan learning outcomes. The type of research used in this study was quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group research design. This research was conducted in second semester of 2015/2016 academic year in SMPN 10 Tarakan. The population of this research were all 7th grade students of SMPN 10 Tarakan. The sampling was done by using simple random sampling. The sampe in this study were the students of VII-3 and VII-4 classes. The data collection was done by using students test result. The data was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential analysis techniques. The descriptive analysis covering the arithmetic mean and standard deviation. The inferential analysis used in this study were one sample t-test and independent sample t-test. Based on the result of analysis with significance level of 5%, it can be concluded that the used of problem based learning model was effective to students’ learning outcomes, with effective test result was -t table = -1.696 < t count = 1.769 and t-test result of two classes after the treatment is given was t count = 12.839 > t table = 1.670.
