Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kecerdasan logis matematis, kemampuan pemecahan masalah sistem persamaan linear dua variabel dan pengaruh kecerdasan logis-matematis terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester pertama 2016/2017.
Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 9 Tarakan sejumlah 231 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara Cluster Random Sampling sejumlah 57 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial.
Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kecerdasan logis matematis siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 9 Tarakan pada kategori sedang sebesar 79%. Tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah sistem persamaan linear dua variabel siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 9 Tarakan pada kategori cukup sebesar 61%. Kecerdasan logis-matematis memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah sistem persamaan linear dua variabel dengan persamaan regresi menunjukkan ̂ dan koefisien determinasi yang dihasilkan adalah 0,423. Sehingga kecerdasan logis matematis memberikan pengaruh sebesar 42,3% terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV).

This research aimed to determine the level of logical-mathematical intelligence, the level of problem solving ability on two variables linear equation system and the effect of logical-mathematical intelligence on problem solving ability in two variables linear equation system. This research was conducted in first semester 2016/2017. This is a quantitative research. The population of this research is all of the ninth grade SMP N 9 Tarakan, as many as 231 students. Cluster random sampling was used to select 57 students as samples. The technique of data collection is test. The technique of data analysis are descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The result of descriptive analysis shows that most of the student level of logical-mathematical intelligence at the ninth grade SMP N 9 Tarakan is on the category is moderate which is 79%. The level of problem solving ability ontwo variables linear equation system at the ninth grade SMP N 9 Tarakan is on the sufficient category which is 61%. Logical-mathematical intelligence gave the effect on the problem solving ability in the problem solving two variables linear equation system with regression equation showed ̂ and the result of the coefficient determination is 0.423. Therefore the logical-mathematical intelligence gave the effect 42,3% to the problem solving ability on two variables linear equation system.
