Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pembelajaran Think Talk Write (TTW) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 17 Mei sampai 02 Juni 2016 di SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan.
Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi exsperimental research dengan desain posttest only control design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling yang terbagi dalam dua kelas yaitu kelas VIII-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan uji statistik independent sample t test dengan bantuan software SPSS versi 16.0 for windows.
Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika kelas eksperimen adalah 68,15 dan nilai rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika kelas kontrol adalah 54,10. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil analisis uji independent sample t-test dengan taraf signifikan 5% (α = 0,05) diperoleh p-value sebesar 0,000. Dengan demikian H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran Think Talk Write (TTW) berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa.

This research was aimed to find out the effect of Think Talk Write (TTW) learning strategies towards mathematical problem solving ability of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. This research was conducted on May 17th – June 2nd 2016 at SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. The research method of this research was quasi experimental research with posttest only control design. Population in this research was all of eighth grade student at SMP Negeri 10 Tarakan. Sample of this research was taken by simple random sampling technique which was divided into two classes. They were class VIII-1 as the experiment class and class VIII-3 as the control class. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistic and independent sample t-test statistic test assited by software SPSS versi 16.0 for windows. Result of descriptive analysis showed that the average score of mathematical problem solving ability in experiment class was 68,15 and the average score of mathematical problem solving ability in control class was 54,10. Meanwhile, according to the result of independent sample t-test analysis with 5% (α = 0,05) significant level was obtained 0,000 of p-value. Therefore, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. So that, it can be concluded that Think Talk Write (TTW) learning strategy affected towards mathematical problem solving ability.
