Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran realistic mathematics education (RME) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 unggulan malinau. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 di sma negeri 8 unggulan malinau.
Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi exsperimental research dengan desain posttest only control design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 Unggulan Malinau. Sampel penelitian ini diambil dengan teknik simpel random sampling yang terbagi dua kelas yaitu XI IPS-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPS-2 sebagai kelas kontrol, Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan uji statistik independent sampel t-test.
Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas eksperimen adalah 77,64 dan nilai rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas kontrol adalah 59,84 Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil analisis uji independent sample t-test dengan taraf signifikan 5% (a = 0,05) diperoleh p-value sebesar 0,000. Dengan demikian H0 ditolak,dan H1 terima sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa “Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) lebih tinggi secara signifikan dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas kontrol yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional.

This study aims to determine the effect of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) Learning Mathematical Problem Solving Ability of Class XI student of Favourite State Senior High School 8 of Malinau. The research was conducted in the second semester of academic year 2016/2017 in Favourite State Senior High School 8 of Malinau. This type of research is quasi experimental research with posttest only control design. The population in this study were all class XI of Favourite State Senior High School 8 of Malinau. The research sample was taken with simple random sampling techniques and divided into two classes: XI IPS-1 as the experimental class and IPS XI-2 as the control class, data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and statistical test of independent samples t-test. Descriptive analysis showed that the average score of mathematical problem-solving abilities experimental class students is 77.64 and the average score of mathematical problem-solving ability control class is 59.84, while based on the analysis of independent sample t-test with significant level of 5 % (a = 0.05) was obtained p-value 0.000. Therefore, H0 is rejected, so that it can be concluded that the "ability of mathematical problem-solving student experiment class which is taught using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model is higher than problem solving ability control class which is taught using conventional learning models.
