Abstract

Digital storytelling ia a type of multimedia that can be used as a teaching tool. It includes images, video, music, animation, and sound. Depending on the creator’s ability level, digital storytelling can be straightforward or quite difficult. The purpose of this study was to ascertain how using digital storytelling affected speaking skill. Purposive sampling and pre-experimental research procedures were employed by the researcher. There were six class meetings and twenty-three students in the research sample. To determine its efficacy, the data was then examined using parametric statistic and a paired t-test. The t-test result (10,801>2.086) was higher than the t-table value. The value (0.000 < 0.05) in the probability significance column (2-tailed) indicated that the significance value was less than the significance level. The alternative hypothesis was accepted and the null hypothesis was rejected. Thus, there was a noticeable difference between the speaking skill of the students before and after they received treatment with digital storytelling.
