Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui minat belajar siswa kelas VIII terhadap mata pelajaran IPA di SMPN 10 Tarakan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini merupakan seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 10 Tarakan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan angket pada 112 responden berdasarkan teknik total sampling. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan statistik deskriptif. Data diperoleh berdasarkan hasil angket minat belajar dalam bentuk pernyataan sebanyak 20 item yang terbagi ke dalam empat aspek yaitu perasaan senang, perhatian, ketertarikan, dan keterlibatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat belajar siswa kelas VIII secara umum berada pada kategori "berminat" dengan nilai rerata persentase 75,32%. Adapun hasil minat belajar siswa kelas VIII berdasarkan aspek yang meliputi perasaan senang, perhatian, ketertarikan, dan keterlibatan berada pada kategori "berminat" dengan rentang nilai persentase 73,34%-78,16%.
This study aimed to find out the student learning interest of grade VIII in science subjects at SMPN 10 Tarakan. The method used in this study was descriptive with a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were all students at grade VIII of SMPN 10 Tarakan. Data collection was carried out by distributing the questionnaires to 112 respondents based on the total sampling technique. Data analysis technique were carried out with descriptive statistics. Data was obtained based on the results of a learning interest questionnaire in the form of statements of 20 items divided into four aspects, namely feelings of pleasure, attention, interest, and involvement. The results of the study showed that the student learning interest of grade VIII was generally in “interested” category with the average percentage score of 75.32%. the results of student learning interest of grade VIII based on some aspects that include feelings of pleasure, attention, interest, amd involvement were in “interested” category with a percentage value range of 73.34%-78.16%.
