Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menginvestigasi ada tidaknya perbedaan antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan aplikasi BBC learning english appalication sebagai media dengan siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan metode conventional (audio visual) dalam kemampuan berbicara siswa kelas sepuluh di SMAN 1 Tarakan.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adala quasi-experimental method, bentuk desain yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini adalah nonequivalent control design, yang menjadi objek dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas sepuluh F sebagai kelas experiment dan kelas sepuluh I sebagai kelas kontrol yang di ambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling technique. Peneliti menggunakan independent sample t-test untuk meneliti data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan aplikasi BBC learning english application sebagai media dengan siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan metode konventional (audio visual) dalam pengajaran kemampuan berbicara siswa. Hasilnya, uji hipotesis menentukan bahwa faktor signifikan lebih kecil dari 0,05, dan uji t yang dihasilkan (3.664) lebih kuat daripada t-tabel (1.666). Data menunjukkan bahwa Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Ha mengklaim peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan berbicara siswa dengan menggunakan aplikasi BBC learning English application sebagai media latihan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas sepuluh SMAN 1 Tarakan.

The objective of this research was to find out whether speaking was one of the most important skills of the four language skills because individuals who learned a language were called speakers of that language, speaking is a skill that needs to be prioritized. The purpose study was to determine whether the use of BBC learning had an impact on the speaking skills of SMAN 1 Tarakan tenth grade students. This study conducted a pre-test, a treatment, and a post-test using a quasi-experimental metodolgy using a quantitative approach. The researcher selected 37 students from each class, tenth grade I and tenth grade F, for the purpose of the study through a purposive sample technique. The researcher employed paired sample t-test, homogeneity test, and normality checks to handle the pre- and post-test data. The study's findings suggested that using BBC content to teach students had impact on their speaking skills. Data analysis revealed that the observed data was uniform and normal. Additionally, the paired sample t test results of the hypothesis test were less than 0.05 and indicated that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. Ha claimed that the BBC learning materials improved learning and had and impact on the speaking skills of the students at SMAN 1 Tarakan. Teachers and students were influenced by how the BBC learning application affected speaking resources as supplemental media. Students altered the way they practiced speaking, enhanced, vocabulary, speaking fluency, and comprehension, and had a favourable impact on learning.
