Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan model pembelajaran game based learning pada keterampilan penulisan teks biografi bagi siswa kelas X di SMAIT Ulul Albab Tarakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain True-Experimental Designs dalam bentuk Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini seluruh siswa kelas X yang berjumlah 44 siswa, laki-laki 25 siswa dan perempuan 19 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling simple random sampling. Sampel data penelitian ini kelas X Cut Nyak Dien sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 15 siswa dan kelas X Tuanku Imam Bonjol sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 15 siswa. Pada kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan berupa model pembelajaran game based learning dalam bentuk game open box sedangkan kelas kontrol tidak diberi perlakuan, penyampaian materi menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi dan wawancara serta pemberian tes uraian yaitu pre-test dan post-test. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif nilai rata-rata pre-test kelas eksperimen adalah 73,87 dan kelas kontrol 72,67. Adapun nilai rata-rata post-test kelas eksperimen adalah 80,60 dan kelas kontrol 75,40. Berdasarkan analisis statistik inferensial diperoleh hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan independen t-test t-hitung > t-tabel atau 2,340 > 1,701 sehingga hasil analisisnya adalah Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti bahwa model pembelajaran game based learning efektif digunakan pada keterampilan penulisan teks biografi bagi siswa kelas X di SMAIT Ulul Albab Tarakan.

This research aims to determine the game-based learning model's effectiveness on biographical text writing skills for class X students at SMAIT Ulul Albab Tarakan. This research uses a true experimental design in the form of a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all class X students, totalling 44 students, 25 male students and 19 female students. Sampling in this study used a simple random sampling technique. The research data sample is class X Cut Nyak Dien as an experimental class with 15 students and class X Tuanku Imam Bonjol as a control class with 15 students. The experimental class was given treatment as a game-based learning model in the form of an open box game, while the control class was not given treatment; the material was delivered using a conventional learning model. Data collection techniques include observation and interviews and providing descriptive tests; pre-test, and post-tests. Based on descriptive analysis, the average pre-test score for the experimental class was 73.87, and the control class was 72.67. The average post-test score for the experimental class was 80.60, and the control class was 75.40. Based on inferential statistical analysis, the results of hypothesis testing were obtained using independent t-test t- count>t-table or 2.340 > 1.701 so that the results of the study were Ho was rejected, and Ha was accepted, which means that the game-based learning model is effectively used in biographical text writing skills for students, class X at SMAIT Ulul Albab Tarakan.
