Abstract

Tujuan penelitian analisis struktural cerpen untuk mendeskripsikan unsur intrinsik dalam kumpulan cerpen Ustadz Misterius Karya Muhammad Thobroni. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dan bersumber dari kumpulan cerpen Ustadz Misterius karya Muhammad Thobroni. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan teknik pengamatan berupa analisis karya pada empat belas judul kumpulan cerpen Ustadz Misterius. Hasil penelitian ini merujuk pada unsur intrinsik serta membuat simpulan. Hasil penelitian meliputi: (1) Tema, cerpen ini mengandung religius (2) Penokohan, dalam cerpen ini tokoh protagonis yaitu Gus Dul, Kiai Azhari, Kiai Delan, Gus Mus, Kiai Jabrohim, Kiai Zainal, Pak Kadirun, Kiai Mastuhu, Arif, Ngadimin, Kiai Abdussalam, Nyai Istiqomah, Zainal, Udin, Rahmat, Budi, Ali, Basyar, Umi Farha, tokoh antagonis Bahrul, Kodim, Ustadz Karim. (3) Latar Tempat, Kampung, Rumah, Pinggir kali, Serambi, Desa Sendangsari, Gardu kampung, Sogan, Lampung, Jawa Timur, Kendal Kaliwungu, Masjid, Pesantren. Latar Waktu, pagi hari, sore hari, jam 10 malam, seminggu silam, bulan ini, tiga hari, jam 7.30 WIB, tiga tahun, jam 12 siang, jam 1 siang. Latar Sosial ditunjukkan dengan kebiasaan hidup, keyakinan, cara bersikap. (4) Alur, alur maju, alur mundur serta alur campuran. (5) Gaya Bahasa, menggunakan majas personifikasi, hiperbola, ironi, simile, metafora, alegori, pars pro toto, asosiasi. (6) sudut pandang, orang pertama menggunakan kata” aku, saya” sudut pandang kedua menggunakan kata” engkau” sudut pandang ketiga menggunakan” nama-nama tokoh dalam cerita penulis berada diluar cerita. (7) Amanat, memberikan pesan kepada pembaca agar tidak muda menilai seseorang dari luarnya saja, tidak muda percaya dengan janji manis laki-laki, menolong sesama manusia, selalu mengingat Tuhan.

The present study aimed to describe the intrinsic elements in the short story colllection entitled Ustadz Misterius by Muhammad Thobroni. Employing a qualitative research approach, this study drew insights from the aforementioned collection. Data collection was carried out using observation techniques, involving analytical examination of fourteen titles comprising the short story compolation “Ustadz Misterius” authored by Muhammad Thobroni. The findings of this study encompassed a comprehensive analysis of the intrinsic elements within the short story collection, leading to several key conclusions. These result include: (1) Theme, the content of the short stories predominantly revolved around religious motifs; (2) Chartacterization, the narratives featured a diverse array of characters, including protagonisist: Gus Dul, Kiai Azhari, Kiai Delan, Gus Mus, Kiai Jabrohim, Kiai Zainal, Mr. Kadirun, Kiai Mastuhu, Arif, Ngadimin, Kiai Abdyssalam, Nyai Istiqomah, Zainal, Udin, Rahmat, Budi, Ali, Basyar and Umi Farha; juxtaposed against antagonists: Bahrul, Kodim, and Ustadz Karim; (3) Place Setting, the settings spanned across various locales including villages, houses, riverbanks, porches, Sendangsari village, village substations, Sogan, Lampung, East Java, Kendal Kaliwungu, mosques, and islamic boarding schools. Time Settings ranged from morning, afternoon, and specific times of day, to references such as a week ago, this month, three days, three years, and specific clock times such 10 pm, 7.30 pm, 12 pm, 1 pm. Social Setting was shown by living habits, beliefs, ways of behavingg; (4) Flow, the narrative structure exhibited forward flow, backward flow, and mixed flows; (5) Language Style, diverse linguistic devices were employed, including personification, hyperbole, irony, simile, metaphor, allegory, pars pro toto, association; (6) Point of View, various narrative perspectives were utilized, with the first-person perspective denoted by the use of “aku” or “saya”. The second person perspective with “engkau”, and the third-person perspective employing the character names in the story where the author was outside the story; and (7) Mandate, the narratives conveyed moral messages urging readers not to judge based on appearances, to be wary of empty promises, to extend help to others, and to maintain a constant awareness of God.
