Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada karakter morfometrik dan meristik ikan kuwe (Caranx ignobilis) hasil tangkapan kelong diperairan Tanjung Buka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa karakter morfometrik dan meristik serta perbedaan ikan kuwe jantan dan betina secara morfologi di periaran Tanjung Buka. Pengambilan sampel selama bulan mei hingga juli 2023 dengan jumlah sampel ikan sebanyak 30 ekor. Hasil Analisis persamaan regresi linear menunjukkan ikan kuwe jantan dan kuwe betina memiliki keeratan yang sangat kuat berkisar 0,831 – 0,996 dan pada uji diskriminan ditemukan lima perbedaan karakter mofometrik yaitu PS, PK, TK, PSSV, PSSA ikan kuwe betina lebih panjang dibandingkan dengan ikan kuwe jantan. Hasil perhitungan meristik pada ikan kuwe jantan dan betina memiliki sirip lengkap D¹. VII ; D². I.20, P. 19, V.I. 4, A¹.II ; A². 17 – 18, C. 19 - 23 + 2, LL¹.58 - 62 ; LL². 30 – 31.

Morphometrics and Meristics are key factors utilized in the field of fisheries biology. This parameter highlights the morphological traits of fish species as taxonomic features during fish identification. This study examines the morphometric and meristic characteristics and the morphological disparities between males and females in the Tanjung Buka region. This study employs quantitative descriptive methodologies. The study employed the Purposive Sampling approach, considering both male and female fish. A total of 30 fish samples were observed. Morphometric data was analyzed on 21 quantitative characteristics and six meristic characters. The results of the discriminant test showed that five morphological characters were significantly different between male and female fish, namely standard length (P=0.00), head length (P = 0.018), head height (P = 0.34), and length before the dorsal fin (P=0.042), length before the anal fin (P=002). Meristic calculation results show that male and female pompanos have complete D' fins. VII, D² 120, P. 19, V.1 4, A II, A 17-18, C. 19232, LL5862, LL. 30 31 Pompano can be differentiated morphologically between males and females by looking at the differences in PS, PK, TK, PSSV, and PSSA.
