
PEMANFAATAN GULMA SEBAGAI BAHAN TAMBAHAN DALAM PENGEMBANGBIAKAN TIKUS PUTIH (Mus Muculus)

Abstract
Gulma sebagai tumbuhan berpotensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak, karena memiliki kandungan nutrisi, serta senyawa metabolik lainnnya khususnya bagi pengembangbiakan tikus putih. Penelitian bertujuan, (1) menguji pengaruh penggunaan gulma sebagai bahan tambahan sebagai ransum bagi pertumbuhan tikus putih; dan (2) menguji perbedaan pengaruh pertumbuhan tikus putih dengan menggunakan gulma sebagai bahan tambahan ransum tikus putih, dengan pakan lainnya. Penelitian disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok 1 (satu) faktor yakni gulma sebagai tambahan ransum pakan tikus, yang terdiri dari, (1) ransum komersial tanpa gulma sebagai kontrol, (2) ransum komersial ditambahkan serbuk gulma daun lebar (kelompok kacang-kacangan) (3) ransum komersial ditambahkan serbuk gulma rerumputan (rumput paspalum), dan (4), ransum ransum komersial ditambahkan serbuk gulma teki-tekian (Cyperaceae). Masing-masing perlakuan diulang 6 kali, sehingga diperoleh 24 unit percobaan. Data pengamatan meliputi; (1) konsumsi pakan (ransum) selama 13 hari; (2) selisih berat akhir tikus dan awal tikus (g); (3) panjang badan tikus (cm), Selain itu, (4) dilakukan pengukuran kadar glukosa dan kolesterol dalam darah. Kadar glukosa dan kolesterol diperoleh dari sampel darah 4 (empat) ekor tikus. Hasil Penelitian menujukkan penggunaan gulma sebagai sebagai bahan tambahan ransum memberikan pertumbuhan negatif selisih berat akhir dan berat awal tikus, dan selisih panjang badan tikus, kecuali perlakuan gulma kacang-kacangan berpengaruh positif terhadap pertumbuhan selisih panjang badan tikus akhir dan awal. Sedangkan, perlakuan tidak terdapat pengaruh terhadap kadar, namun terdapat perbedaan pengaruh terhadap kadar glukosa tikus. Perlakuan kontrol berbeda dengan perlakuan bahan tambahan gulma daun lebar (kacang-kacangan), gulma rerumputan (paspalum), dan rumput teki. Selanjutnya, perlakuan kontrol berbeda dengan gulma daun lebar dan gulma rerumputan, namun perlakuan gulma teki tidak berbeda dengan kontrol. Sedangkan, kadar glukosa pada perlakuan kontrol berbeda dengan seluruh perlakuan gulma sebagai bahan tambahan ransum pakan.

Weeds as plants have the potential to be utilized as animal feed, because they contain nutrients, and other metabolic compounds, especially for breeding white mice. The present research aimed to test (1) the effect of using weeds as additional ingredients in rations for the growth of white mice; and (2) the difference in the effect of white mice growth by using weeds as additional ingredients in white mice rations with other feed. This research was arranged in a Randomized Group Design with 1 (one) factor, namely weeds as additional ingredients to mice feed rations consisting of (1) commercial rations without weeds as control, (2) commercial rations added with broadleaf weeds powder (legume group) (3) commercial rations added with grass weeds powder (Paspalum), and (4), commercial rations added with sedge weeds powder (Pyperaceae). Each treatment was repeated 6 times, resulting in 24 experimental units. Observational included (1) the feed consumption (rations) 13 days, (2) the difference between the final and the initial weights of mice (g);(3) the mice's body lengths (cm). In addition, (4) the blood glucose and cholesterol levels were measured. The glucose and cholesterol levels were obtained from blood samples of 4 (four) mice. The results showed that the use of weeds as additional ingredients in rations gave negative growth in the difference between the final and the initial weights of mice and the difference in body lengths of mice, except for the legume weeds treatment which had a positive effect on the growth of the difference between the final and the initial body lengths of mice. Meanwhile, the treatment had no effect on the levels, but there was a difference in the effect on mice glucose levels. The control treatment was different among the treatments with broadleaf (legume), grass weeds (Paspalum), and sedge weeds (Pyperaceae). Furthermore, the control treatment was different from broadleaf weeds and grass weeds, but the sedge weeds treatment was not different from the control one. Meanwhile, the glucose levels in the control treatment were different from all weeds treatments as additional ingredients in feed rations. keywords: Weeds, Rations, White Mice
