Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menginvestigasi apakah media podcast otentik memberikan efek terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa kelas sepuluh di SMK Kesehatan Kaltara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode pre-experimental dengan pelaksanaan pre-test, treatment dan post-test. Dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling peneliti memilih kelas sepuluh keperawatan b dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 25 siswa sebagai objek penelitian. Peneliti menggunakan tes normalitas, tes homogenitas dan paired sample t-test untuk mengelola data pre-test dan post-test. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat efek dari media podcast otentik terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa. Data analisis menunjukkan bahwa data terdeteksi normal dan homogeny selanjutnya hasil dari uji hipotesis menggunakan paired sample t-test lebih kecil dari 0,05 dan menunjukkan bahwa Ha diterima sedangkan Ho ditolak. Ha mengklaim bahwa media podcast otentik memberikan efek terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa di SMK Kesehatan Kaltara sekaligus memberikan efek positif dalam pembelajaran. Pengaruh penggunaan media podcast otentik dalam kemampuan berbicara memberikan efek terhadap guru dan siswa. Guru menggunakan media podcast otentik sebagai media tambahan untuk menciptakan desain baru dalam pembelajaran. Siswa mengubah bagaimana cara mereka berlatih berbicara, meningkatan kelancaran dalam berbicara,
penyebutan kosa kata, memperkaya kosa kata, pemahaman siswa, dan memberikan efek positif dalam pembelajaran.

The purpose of this study was to investigated whether authentic podcast media had an effect on the speaking skill of tenth-grade students at SMK Kesehatan Kaltara. This study employed a quantitative approach and pre-experimental method with the implementation of pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The researcher chose tenth grade nursing b with a total of 25 students as research participants through random sampling technique. The data collected in this study were pre-test and post-\test. The researcher used the normality test, homogeneity test, and paired sample t-test to analyze the pre-test and post-test data. The results of this study indicate that there was significant effect of authentic podcast media on students' speaking skill. The data analysis showed that the data was normal and homogeneous, then the result of the hypothesis test result using the paired sample t-test was smaller than 0.05 and showed that Ha was accepted while Ho was rejected. Ha claimed that authentic podcast media had significant effect students' speaking skill at the SMK Kesehatan Kaltara. The effect of using authentic media on speaking skill had an effect on teacher and students. Teacher used authentic podcast media as additional media to create new designs in learning. Students changed how they practiced speaking, improved speaking fluency, pronounced vocabulary and enrich vocabulary, student understanding, as well as had a positive effect on learning.
