Triage adalah proses pemilihan pasien berdasarkan tingkat keparahan kondisinya. Triage di Instalasi Gawat Darurat bertujuan untuk memprioritaskan perawatan pasien IGD dan menentukan kasus true emergency dan false emergency. Banyaknya pasien yang datang ke IGD dengan berbagai macam kasus sehingga membutuhkan penanganan dan skill dari petugas triage yang yang bertugas saat itu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman petugas kesehatan yang terdiri dari dokter, perawat, dan bidan dalam penerapan triage di IGD RSUD dr. H Jusuf SK Tarakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi fenomenologi. Teknik pengambilan partisipan menggunakan metode purposive sampling sebanyak 6 partisipan. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan metode wawancara terstruktur dan observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis tematik Braun and Clark. Hasil wawancara partisipan didapat 8 tema yang menggambarkan pengimplementasian triage di IGD RSUD dr H Jusuf SK Tarakan yaitu (1) Memahami Konsep triage. (2) Melakukan tahap-tahap triage, (3) Memperhatikan keamanan dan safety, (4) Respon time kurang dari 5 menit, (5) Bekerja sebagai tim dalam proses triage, (6) Memprioritaskan pasien tidak sadar. (7) Resiko terjadinya overcrowded di IGD dan (8) Mendapatkan Tekanan dari keluarga pasien. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa implementasi triage di IGD RSUD dr. Jusuf SK Tarakan belum terlaksana secara optimal sehingga masih perlu dilakukan perbaikan terutama dalam hal penerapan safety perlindungan diri untuk mencegah infeksi nosokomial, dan terjadi kendala dalam pelayanan kesehatan dikarenakan ruangan IGD yang overcrowded.

Triage is the process of selecting patients based on the severity of their condition.Triage in the Emergency room aims to prioritize the emergency patient care and determine true emergency and false emergency cases. The number of patients who came to the Emergency Room with various cases required handling and skills from Triage officer on duty at that time. This study aimed to explore the experiences of health workers consisting of doctors, nurses, and midwives in implementing Triage in emergency room of RSUD dr. H Jusuf SK Tarakan. This research used qualitative design with phenomenological study approach. The technique of taking participants used the purposive sampling method as many as 6 participants. Data collection techniques used structured interview and observation methods. Data analysis techniques used Brown and Clark thematic analysis. The results of the participant interviews obtained 8 themes that describe the implementation of Triage in emergency room of dr. H Jusuf SK Tarakan Hospital, namely (1) Understanding the concept of Triage. (2) Carry out Triage stages, 3) Pay attention to the security and safety, (4) Response time is less than 5 minutes, (5) Work as a team in Triage process, (6) Prioritize the unconscious patients. (7) Risk of overcrowding in the emergency room and 8) Getting pressure from the patient's family. This study concluded that the implementation of Triage in emergency room of RSUD dr. Jusuf SK Tarakan had not been implemented optimally, therefore the improvements still need to be made, especially in terms of implementing safety for self-protection to prevent nosocomial infections and obstacles in health services due to the overcrowded emergency rooms.
