Abstract
Penelitian tindakan kelas ini untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS pada materi usaha mempertahankan kemerdekaan Indonesia dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran talking stick dengan subjek penelitian siswa SDN 018 Karang Rejo Tarakan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai tanggal 30 April sampai 21 Mei 2013 pada semester genap 2012/2013 dengan jumlah 36 siswa dalam 2 siklus. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi siswa, lembar observasi guru.
Setelah dilaksanakan tindakan dalam proses pembelajaran diperoleh hasil penelitian pada siklus I dengan ketuntasan klasikal mencapai 41,67% masih belum mencapai indikator keberhasilan yang ditentukan yaitu 75%. Sedangkan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan dengan ketuntasan hasil penelitian klasikal 80,56% sudah mencapai indikator keberhasilan yang ditentukan.

The research design of this research used Classroom Action Research (CAR). The objective of this research was to improve the Students’ Achievement on Social Science on depending in independent topic through Cooperative Learning type Talking Stick Model at Fifth Grade Students of SD Negeri 018 Karang Rejo Tarakan. The research was done from 30 April to 31 May 2013 in even semester 2012/2013. This research was done into some steps; planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The research instruments were observation sheet and test. The number of students in one class consisted of 36 students. Based on the result of study in first cycle the students’ score was 41.67% and the second cycle was 80.56% of the percentage of students who gained the minimum score, meanwhile the minimum percentage of the research success was 75%. It indicates that students have gained the criteria of success in this research and the students’ motivation was rising and priding by implementing Cooperative Learning type talking stick model. By understanding the result of this study, it can be concluded that the Cooperative Learning type talking stick model can improve the Students’ Achievement on Social Science at Fifth grade students of SD Negeri 018 Karang Rejo Tarakan.
