Abstract

Kemampuan numerasi adalah keterampilan memahami dan menerapkan bilangan serta keterampilan mengaplikasikan operasi hitung matematika yang harus dimiliki setiap individu sebagai penyelesaian masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan numerasi siswa kelas IV B di SD Negeri 032 Tarakan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu, kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes kemampuan numerasi dan dikonfirmasi melalui wawancara. Pada penelitian ini melibatkan partisipan sebanyak 23 siswa mengerjakan tes kamampuan numerasi dan hasil pengerjaan dikelompokkan berdasarkan kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Peneliti mengambil subjek penelitian sebanyak 6 orang sebagai perwakilan setiap kategori kemampuan matematika untuk diwawancarai. Adapun hasil penelitian, (1) indikator menggunakan berbagai macam angka atau simbol terkait dengan matematika dasar ditemukan bahwa subjek kemampuan tinggi dan salah satu subjek kemampuan sedang berhasil menyelasikan permasalahan pada soal. Pada subjek kemampuan sedang lainnya mampu memperoleh jawaban, namun jawaban tersebut kurang tepat. Subjek kemampuan rendah belum mampu dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan pada soal; (2) indikator menganalisis informasi yang ditampilkan berbagai bentuk (grafik, bagan, tabel, dll) ditemukan subjek kemampuan tinggi mampu menuliskan 3 informasi dengan tepat. Pada subjek kemampuan tinggi lainnya dan salah satu kemampuan sedang hanya mampu menuliskan 1 informasi dikarenakan kedua subjek kurang teliti dalam membaca grafik. Subjek kemampuan sedang lainnya dan kemampuan rendah mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca grafik; dan (3) indikator menafsirkan hasil analisis untuk memprediksi dan mengambil keputusan bahwa subjek kemampuan tinggi dan salah satu subjek kemampuan sedang sudah mampu menafsirkan hasil analisisnya untuk memprediksi dan mengambil keputusan. Sedangkan subjek kemampuan sedang lainnya mampu menggunakan operasi hitung, namun belum mampu dalam membuat keputusan. Selain itu pada subjek kemampuan rendah hanya mampu mengambil keputusan tanpa disertakan alasan-alasan.

Numeracy ability is the skill of understanding and applying numbers and the skill of applying mathematical calculation operations that every individual must have as a solution to problems in everyday life. This research aimed to describe the numeracy skills of class IV-B students at the SD Negeri 032 Tarakan. The type of this research was descriptive qualitative. Data collection was done through a numeracy test and confirmed through interviews. In this research, 23 students participated in the numeracy test and the results were grouped besed on high, medium, and low math ability. The researcher took research subjects as many as 6 people as representatives of each category of mathematical ability to be interviewed. The study’s findings revealed that, first, subjects with high aptitude and one subject with medium aptitude both addressed the difficulties in the question by employing a variety of numbers or symbols linked to basic arithmetic. For other subjects of medium ability, they were able to get answers, but the answers were not accurate. For subjects with low ability, thet were not able to solve the problems in the question. Second, for indicators of analyzing information displayed in various forms (graphs, charts, tables, etc.), high ability subjects were able to write 3 pieces of information accurately. For other subjects with high ability and one with medium ability, they were only able to write 1 piece of information because both subjects were not careful in reading graphs. Subjetcs of other medium ability and low ability experienced difficulties in reading grapihcs. Third, for indicators of interpreting the results of the analysis to predict and make decisions, subjects with high ability and one of the subjetcs with medium ability were able to interpret the results of the analysis to predict and make decisions. While other medium ability subjects were able to use calculation operations, but were not yet able to make decisions.
