Abstract
Proses dekomposisi serasah akan menghasilkan bahan organik yang berperan dalam menentukan kesuburan perairan salah satunya adalah nitrogen. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguraikan kandungan bahan organik nitrogen total yang terdekomposisi pada serasah daun mangrove jenis R. mucronata di Kawasan Konservasi Mangrove dan Kepiting Kelurahan Pamusian Kota Tarakan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juni sampai dengan Agustus 2022 dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di tiga stasiun, stasiun 1 terletak di aliran Sungai Pamusian, stasiun 2 terletak didekat Menara Pengawas, dan stasiun 3 terletak didekat pemukiman masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan laju dekomposisi serasah daun mangrove R. mucronata di Kawasan Konservasi Mangrove dan Kepiting Kelurahan Pamusian Kota Tarakan berkisar 0,38-0,43 g/hari, sedangkan kandungan nitrogen total pada serasah daun R. mucronata yang terdekomposisi selama 56 hari berkisar 0,66-0,72 %.

The process of litter decomposition will produce organic matter which plays a role in determining water fertility, one of which is nitrogen. The purpose of this study was to describe the total nitrogen organic matter content decomposed in the (R. mucronata) mangrove leaves litter in the Mangrove and Crab Conservation Area, Pamusian Village, Tarakan City. This research was conducted from June to August 2022 using a quantitative descriptive method. This research was conducted at three stations, station 1 was located in the Pamusian River, station 2 was located near the Supervisory Tower, and station 3 was located near a community settlement. The results showed that the rate of decomposition of (R. mucronata) mangrove leaves litter in the Mangrove and Crab Conservation Area, Pamusian Village, Tarakan City, ranged from 0.38 to 0.43 g/day, while the total nitrogen content in R. Mucronata leaves litter which decomposed for 56 days ranged from 0.66-0.72 %. Keywords: Decomposition Rate, Mangrove, Nitrogen, R. mucronata, Litter
