Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh hasil evaluasi kemampuan literasi sains siswa di Indonesia melalui tes PISA yang berada diperingkat 70 dari total 78 negara. Rendahnya kemampuan literasi sains siswa salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh model pembelajaran. Solusi yang dianggap mampu melatih kemampuan literasi sains siswa adalah model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dimana siswa dilatih untuk menemukan konsep langsung melalui pengalamannya sehingga beberapa indikator literasi sains dapat dilatihkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan Saintific Literacy siswa kelas X pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (Quasi Experimental) dengan populasi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik Tengah Tahun Ajaran 2021-2022, dan sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas X IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji Independent sample t-test diperoleh nilai thitung sebesar 6.594 pada taraf signifikan 0.05 dan df = 44 dan nilai ttabel 1.68023 berarti thitung > ttabel (6.584) > (1.68023). Sehingga berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan Saintific Literacy siswa kelas X pada materi pencemaran Lingkungan di SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik Tengah.

this research is motivated by the evaluation result of students’ scientific literacy abilities in Indonesia through the PISA test, which ranked 70 out of 78 countries. One of the influential factor determining the students’ low scientific literacy abilities was the learning models. The solution that is considered capable of training students’ scientific literacy abilities is the Discovery Learning model, on which students are trained to find concepts directly through their experiences so that several indicators of scientific literacy can be trained. This study aims to determine the influence of the Discovery Learning model on the Scientific Literacy abilities of class X students on environmental pollution material. This study used a quantitative descriptive approach with a quasi-experimental method. The population was class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik Tengah Academic Year 2021/2022, and the samples used were class X IPA 1 as the experimental class and class X IPA 2 as the control class. The research data were analysed using the Independent sample t-test. The result showed that a tcount of 6.594 at a significant level of 0.05 and df = 44 while a ttable valueof 1.68023 which means tcount > ttable (6.594) > (1.68023). Therefore, based on the data analysis result, it can be concluded that there was an effect of the Discovery Learning model on the Scientific Literacy abilities of class X students on environmental pollution material at SMA Negeri 1 Sebatik Tengah.
