Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS pada materi Tokoh – Tokoh Sejarah Hind, Buddha, dan Islam pada subjek Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) kelas V-B SDN 024 Tarakan. Berdasarkan hasil observasi ditemukan adanya permasalahan, yaitu (1) Hasil belajar siswa kelas V B SDN 024 tarakan pada mata pelajaran IPS masih rendah. (2)Tingkat kepercayaan diri siswa untuk bertanya masih rendah. (3) Rendahnya aktivitas (keterlibatan siswa dalam kegiatan belajar masih rendah). (4) Belum berkembangnya keterampilan proses kerja sama pada siswa. (5) Pembelajaran IPS yang didominasi oleh metode ceramah dan model pembelajaran yang digunakan belum bervariasi. (6) Belum berkembangnya model belajar dengan teman sebaya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari Perencanaan, Pelaksanaan Tindakan, Observasi dan Refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes dan observasi. Instrumen Penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar, lembar Penilaian afektif dan Psikomotorik, lembar pengamatan aktivitas guru dan lembar pengamatan aktivitas belajar siswa dalam proses pembejaran. Presentase ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal pada siklus I sebesar 30% meningkat menjadi 76% pada siklus II. Kesimpulan dari penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Number Heads Together (NHT) pada pembelajaran IPS materi Tokoh – Tokoh Sejarah Hindu, Buddha, dan Islam di kelas V-B SDN 024 Tarakan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

The purpose of this research is to improve the students’ achievement in IPS subject in learning historical figures of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Moeslem with the subject of this Class Action Research (CAR) was fifth grade students of class-B in SDN 024 Tarakan. Based on the result of observation, the researcher found that there were problems of the students, they were (1) The fifth grade students’ of SDN 024 Tarakan achievement in IPS subject was low, (2) Self-confidence level of the students’ in asking questions to the teacher was low, (3) Less activities in the class (students’ participation in teaching and learning process), (4) unimprovement to the students’ skill on cooperative learning with the other students, (5) The teaching and learning process of IPS subject was dominated by the lecturing method and the learning model used was monotonous, and (6) unimprovement to cooperative learning model with the other students. This research was conducted into two cycles which each cycle consisted of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The techniques of data collection used were test and observation. While, the instruments of the research were test, scoring rubric of affective, psycho motoric, observation sheet for the teacher, and observation sheet for the students during teaching and learning processes. The passing grade students in learning classically in first cycle was 30%, increased to 76 % in second cycle. The conclusion of this class action research is the students’ achievement is improved by using the cooperative learning model type Number Heads Together (NHT) in learning historical figures of Hindusm, Buddhism, and Moeslem of IPS subject at fifth grade students of class-B in SDN 024 Tarakan.
