Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yautu untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap platform yang digunakan selama belajar bahasa inggris online pada kelas 9 di smp tarakan. penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif deskriptif method dan kelas 9 dari Smp 1, Smp 9, smp 10, dan Smp 12 siswa sebagai populasi dengan total 911 siswa. jumlah sample pada penelitian ini yaitu 270 siswa yang dihitung menggunakan rumus isaac dan michael, jadi sebanyak 67-68 siswa diambil dari setiap sekolah dan menggunakan purposive sampling. pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu kuesioner yang didistribusikan pada sample beruba kuesioner yang bertujuan untuk merepresentasikan jawaban siswa. Teknik analisis yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Zoom aplikasi mendapatkan skor tertinggi pada kategori sedang yaitu 109 (40.37%) siswa atau dapat dikatakan netral. Untuk platform Google Meet mendapatkan kategori sedang sebanyak 138 (51.11%) siswa atau dapat dikatakan mendapatkan persepsi netral, sedangkan Google Classroom mendapatkan persepsi positif dengan kategori high sebanyak 110 (40.74%) siswa. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Google Classroom mendapatkan persepsi yang positif dari siswa.

The purpose of this research was to determine students' perceptions of the platform used during online English learning at 9th grade of Junior High Schools Tarakan. This research used a quantitative descriptive method and 9 grade of SMPN 1, SMPN 9, SMPN 10, and SMPN 12 students as a population with a total of 911 students. The number of samples in this research was 270 students who were calculated using the isaac and michael formulas, so as many as 67-68 students were taken from each school and used purposive sampling. Data collection in this research was a questionnaire distributed to the sample in the form of a questionnaire that aims to represent students' answers. The technique analysis used was descriptive quantitative. The results of this research indicate that the Zoom platform gets the highest score in the moderate category, which is 109 (40.37%) students or could be said that this platform had neutral perception. For the Google Meet platform, there were 138 (51.11%) students in the moderate category or it could be said this platform get a neutral perception, while Google Classroom gets a positive perception with a high category of 110 (40.74%) students. Based on these results, it could be concluded that Google Classroom gets a positive perception from students. Keywords: Students’ Perception, Online Learning, Platform
